handover work

I am a new member ,and i handover the work of the last guy . I think it is very hard .there are many things to do .i will be familiar with the work quickly.Then i can do the work better.
It is very hard .I don't know how to do.i didn't know the members of the compay.

Well that the way of life , have to adapt to the environment fast or else it is very easy to get kick out of the company.
