Hi guys! what do you think about keeping a journal or diary about the good things that happens to you each day? The things that you are really thankful for? One of mylot member here shared that he kept this thank you notebook for 6 years now! What do you think guys? We could write about this stuff for the whole year then we could all share it here in mylot at the end of the year! We could look back at the year with thankful hearts about what happened to us the entire year and feel blessed! You can be creative with your notebooks to inspire you to write. Let me hear what you think guys? We can call it Project thank you or maybe you can come up with a better name for it. let's contribute guys and do something fun. Let's practice being grateful!

Candy that is a wonderful idea! I think that most of us are not really thankful enough these days and I know I could be more thankful if I thought about it a little. Maybe we could get the staff at MyLott to add a category or something or maybe we could start our own in the life interests. In fact I think I will start my first discussion in a long while in the life interests sometime today.

I thank you. I started my journal yesterday with a discussion entitled "something good happened today", hope you get chance to read it.

Hi Manly, Yes let's ask the staff at mylot! This will be a good project for everyone...I think. I feel like sulking these past few days as I stayed in the hospital and receive more bad news but now I want to stop being negative and start looking at the best things in life! This project will definitely help.

There are a lot of things that I am thankful for, but I think if I were to keep a journal like this, there would be many days that said the exact same thing and I believe that is the reason that I've never kept a journal like this. However, I do think that it is an awesome idea for a project. You could either give it a generic name like Project Gratitude Journal. Or else, you could start it out at the beginning of the year and it would be a book that you could title it at the beginning of the year "In 2010 I'm Thankful For. . ."

Hi! Thank you for the great suggestions, lol yes sometimes there are chances that we keep writing the same thing all over again but it doesn't matter it's a reminder that we are blessed and the small stuff are being taken care of. We do forget the small stuff in life however when we ran out of it lol we definitely look for it. I have been there quite a few times that's why I do not mind writing the same thing all over again.

I tried to do so a few weeks back but was not able to follow up on the same due to loads of traveling in the month of March.

hie candyfairy, i used to be very enthusiastic about this kind of journal. i write everday, my thoughts and my accomplishments or my failings and what need to be done to overcome and strengthened my weaknesses. i have so many exercise books that i used through the years as journals. as i was away studying and working, my parents have to move houses a number of times. with so many shifting houses and moving, my journals were lost. nowadays i write on the computers and i hope i can have these save up for future references and pleasures.

That is a nice project!! I used to keep journals, but I haven't in years. The main reason is I tend to write too much and these days I don't have time to write in a journal. However, for people like me, perhaps it'd be a good thing to write a thank you everyday on a forum like myLot . . . it may not be in book form, but at least we can write how we are grateful on a daily basis - and to share. I think writing a thank you in any form helps us to remember all the good we really have in life.

Yes it does not have to be a book though because the main purpose is to get people to be grateful and be thankful for the small stuff. I personally prefer a book though so I could go back and take a look during my worst days and remind me that God met me in my needs and I should not loose hope. Also it would be good legacy for the people I would leave behind.

They're typically called gratitude journals, and yes, I keep one and have kept one since early February.
