I use BSNL {Bharath Sanchar Nigam Limited} broad band and the speed promised to me was 256 kbps of browsing speed since it is an unlimited connection.
the download speed which i get is around 30 kbps... no one told me this is the maximum speed i can get.. it hurted me a lot.. still i could go on with it..
what i cannot bear is that whenever i download something the speed goes down tremendously..
now also i am just downloading pics from a google account.. from morning i have downloaded only 100 pics and still there are many remaining.. i dunno why my browsing speed goes down when i am downloading..
does this mean i am browsing at a speed of only 30 kbps..
someone help me with this.. how can i get better browsing speeds...
also suggest me if it is correct to change to a faster plan.. or some other isp..

They have given you the speed they promised, they just tricked you.
This is the case most people are having they get confused with the lower cases and upper cases.
kbps is Kilo bits per second so that is roughly 30 KB a second (Kilo Bytes)
It is always wise and i advise to everyone to use a converter first to find if they are going to get the speed they want before signing up to broadband Contracts.

hiI i don't know what BSNL exactly is, but i am using a DSL connection and I am also not that happy with it, because every afternoon the speed of the connection gets really slow and i am unable to do many pleasant things here :)
