Please let me describe to you the savior of humanity He was born to a virgin He was the Only begotten son of the God He had an Earthly foster father who was of royal descent His birth was heralded by a star, angles, and witnessed by shepherds His birth date is celebrated on December 25 When he was an infant a king tried to have him murdered He is no information about him from the time of his rite of passage at the age of 12 until he was baptised at the age of 30 His baptiser baptised him in a river, shortly afterward the baptiser was beheaded He was tempted but resisted He had twelve disciples He walked on water, cast out demons, healed the sick, restored sight to the blind, raised the dead and stilled the sea by his power He was crucified between two thieves He descended into Hell, was resurrected after three days, witness first by women, and is suppose to come back to reign for a thousand years. Am I speaking about Jesus of the Bible, no actually I am speaking of Horus the Egyptian Sky God. Before any one says Horus is a duplication of Jesus, the tell of Horus existed long before Jesus was ever around.

Hi gewcew23, Yes, I've heard the story. An Anglican Priest in Canada spend years researching the life of Christ and discovered this story and later wrote a book about it. There are many people who don't believe that Jesus Christ ever lived. It is said that most of his teachings can be found in books that were written before his time. The question for some is "does it matter"? The teachings found, for example, in the Sermon on the Mount are excellent, does it matter if they are original or adopted from another? I understand that there is proof of what you are saying here but I still find it difficult to believe that the Christian Church, the largest religion in the world is based on a fictitious person but I agree that you have a strong case. Blessings.

No one's talking about Horus any longer and haven't for quite a while. Even people who don't believe in Jesus still feel compelled to talk about Him. What causes that?

Because Christianity was a state religion in Europe since Constantine adopted Christianity as the official religion of the Roman empire. The same question can be ask why do a billion Arabs believe a guy named Mohammed learned the truth about Allah, a billion Indian believe in the thousand deities of Hinduism, or people in Utah believes that a guy named Joseph Smith had a vision from an angel. It is amazing what happens to a religion when it combines with government.

"No one's talking about Horus any longer and haven't for quite a while." People not only talk about Him, they worship Him to this day. You're talking about him right now.

gewcew, Do you really believe the only reason Christianity still exists today is because Constantine adopted it? That adoption simply ended Roman persecution of Christians. Christianity exist today because Jesus was telling the truth when He said in Luke 21:33 "Heaven and earth will pass away; but by no means will my word pass away." And it's that word that reveals the truth about Jesus Christ and that truth is why people still believe in Him, worship Him, and try to persuade others to accept Him as Lord and Savior. There are and have been many deceivers in the world and more and more keep popping up. That's why a person needs to check the validity of any claim. For instance, don't believe me regarding Jesus just because I say so. Make an effort to find out for yourself whether or not what's written in the Bible about Jesus is the truth. Also, even if you don't believe in God (and I don't know whether or not you believe), ask God to reveal Jesus Christ to you, or to lead you to the truth. Metallion, Those who worship Horus today are well hidden. You're right that I'm talking about Horus, but only because of this discussion. I bet a lot of us talk about things we don't necessarily believe in.

Most religious tales I've heard are just recycled versions of preexisting gods and the like. People have their own reasons for believing what they believe. Unless they're hurting others, I can't really fault them. On some level, I think a lot of people stick by their religion because it's who they are at this point. It was with them since birth, passed down -- it's much more of a lifestyle and not something many are ready to admit could be wrong. Imagine finding out your father isn't your father or something. I don't know. The way I see it, folks should believe whatever best suits them. But just don't try to force it on anyone else. Like with believers in uberlarge government bringing utopia through social justice. Get those myths outta my face, dangit! Believe it if you want, but don't throw monkey wrenches in my game.

A person of faith would say...satan can counterfit what God actually does. And since the Hebrew scriptures tell us that satan goes to and fro from earth to God's thrown...I'm sure he knew the plan and decided to get a jump start..just so you'd have this to post and to make YOU think about Horus....instead of the real Savior.
