Have you ever attended a Christian worship?

I was baptized a Catholic. For years I have been devoted as a Roman Catholic and I never fail to attend mass every Sunday. I find spiritual nourishment in this kind of activity. Just a few months ago, I was invited by a friend to attend a Christian worship. It was going to be held at one of the ballrooms in Waterfront Hotel in Cebu. I admit I was kinda hesitant to come. But just out of curiousity, I came. I started to notice that the people in that set-up were quite different from the Roman Catholic church. They raised their hands in adoration, praises, songs, dances, greetings, and shouts of joy. To tell you honestly I really enjoyed that event. I learned a lot from the pastor and the people were amazingly friendly. It was two hours of worship but I felt I had changed lot. Obviously, it was not only me. For I see the faces of people glowing with smiles after the worship. It kinda reflect their attitude and the way they see life. How about you, have you ever attended a Christian worship?

It seems that you have been attending Christian worship all your life, sadly, without knowing it. Roman Catholicism is one way of worshipping and the kind of Evangelical service you attended is simply another. There may be differences in the details of belief and in the form of the service but both Catholics and Evangelicals (or whatever sect it was that you visited) believe in the One God and in Jesus Christ, His Son.

I agree with you owlwings that I have been attending a Christian worship all my life. For the Roman Catholic church or the Eucharistic celebration is a form of Catholic worship. And indeed I find fufillment and spiritual nourishment in this kind of activity. That event where I was actually invited was perhaps another form of Christianity. They were Protestants. I have been attending a Protestant worship for quite some time already even though I was baptized a Roman Catholic. Because like what you have mentioned, no matter the differences in form of worship, we still praise and honor the same God.

This is how it should be, a celebration, gospel means good news, so celebrate! all the best urban

I truly agree with you, urbandekay, that Christian worship (whether it may be a Roman Catholic or other sect) should be a form of celebration and exuberance. Because indeed the gospel is a good news. No matter how various the ways of expressing our belief, we still worship and praise the same God.

Aye, well said, I don't know what the Churches are like there but here so many are so old and built like little castles that they can make people quite sombre. It can be a good atmosphere for prayer or reflection but not for joyful worship. all the best urban
