Ear Mites in Cats

I have three cats, and all have ear mites. I need to find something that will kill all the ear mites quickly or around the same timeline, so that they don't just spread to the next cat again. I don't want to use a store bought brand with medications that will burn my poor cats' ears. I realize that anything I make or buy will have to be dropped into their ears, and that's never fun, but at least it won't burn and they won't hate me for it. I would really prefer to make something from home to deal with the ear mites. I've seen a recipe using olive oil... Does anybody have some ideas for some natural, homeopathic healing methods/recipes for some good earmite killer?

You might want to try a very small quantity of olive oil with a couple of drops of tea tree oil for it's antiseptic properties.

I had not heard about using tea tree oil in their ears, one recipe i read said to use olive oil, then to rinse it out with green tea. I'm going to get more advice definitely before I put anything in their ears :) I'm worried about the burning they might experience, and just don't want to put them through anymore pain than they have been in already. Thanks for your advice!
