I've bought a new cellphone from a Chinese store. Unfortunately when I look at the box, there's no manual available. When I went back to the store to ask for the manual, they said I'll just come back after a week.
My question is, how do I know if the cellphone is original or just an imitation?

The cell phone I have now, has no hard copy of the manual as it on a cdrom so when I need to know something, I just put it into my computer and get the information I need. It could be possible, the phone, you purchased, might have the manual on cd. I wish mine was one I could look at without using the computer, but I ca't really do anything about it, as that is the way it came. I have a tips and shortcuts manual, and I can get some information from it, but not enough. I just keep the ce close cd close to the computer in the drawer so I can get it it when I need to read it. Take care, and have a very good day.

actually I don't know much about gadget. but I ever read in an article that we could recognize whether our cell phone is from reliable producer or not by looking the serial numbers. but I forget how to get to know our serial numbers. I'm sorry.

In most cases, go to the original website of the manufaturer & pick out the model you bought. You can read up on its features & if the phone you got has different variation of those features, then it might be an imitation. Like 16meg built in memory from original website & your phone as 8meg or 32meg. 3mpixel camera to 2 or 4 mega pixel camera, etc, etc... Or, you can look up the manual online & usually it will tell you where it's made. If your phone has a sticker that tells you different, it might be an imitation. For example, if you find a manual to your phone & it says it's made in Finland, you pull your battery out & the sticker says it's made in Mexico, your phone might be fake. You can always call the manufacturer & verify it, too.
