Would you ever lie to get a date?

haha silly question huh? But how far?
Fudging the truth on an online dating site is nothing new. It’s so common, in fact, researchers have figured out which factors people are most likely to lie about. According to a study in the latest issue of the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships, men are “more likely to misrepresent personal assets, relationship goals, personal interests and personal attributes whereas women are more likely to misrepresent weight.”

Some people wil tell some pretty big whoppers. Myself, I dont think I have intentionally lied on a date. I say that because bottom line we all are on our best behavior on the first few dates. Women wear make up, men shower
hehe. How far would you go?
Do you lie about age? wealth? back ground? job?

I think that I would try to be honest in general with the lady I am going on a date with. However, I might leave some uncomfortable details unmentioned and perhaps reveal them later. But I wouldn't surely go for a big lie, that would represent myself as somebody else. Even if my date partner would believe that lie, it all would come out later and create even more uncomfortable situation. I think lying to get a date is not a wise choice.

The whole point of a date is to see if you are compatible with one another and hopefully love each other at one point. To find out right from the start that the person you are attempting to have a relationship is a liar...can't say I would want to go any further with them personally. So no, I would not lie to get a date...to get out of one is a while other story though!

of course you have to look presentable when going on dates. However, you have to be honest instead of showing off something that you're not.

hah funny, I thought women lie for their age :)
Well I've never done this and I don't see the point of it. When you go to the date and find there is somebody that lied you you'll be dissapoinded twice - once that the person doesn't cope with what you've been expected and second - becouse he/she lied to you and what a beginning of relation this could be? That's for liying about things like appearance.
I guess it's much more easy to lie for interests when you're looking for one-night-date. But if you're hoping it can be more than that, then there's no point of lying too.
