There are a lot of these superzooms on the market just now. The Nikon Coolpix P90 is not bad, but there’s nothing that makes it stand out, either. The Olympus SP-590 UZ has an even longer lens and is much cheaper while the Canon PowerShot SX1 IS is a bit more expensive, but a much better camera. The P90 sits in the middle and is just "okay”. It's performance is as good as most, it handles very well, it produces reasonable (but not excellent) photos provided the light is good and the subject reasonable still. Useless for sports and action, which is what a big-lens camera might promote itself for, but the shutter lag is too slow and the electronic viewfinder too pixelated at long reach, and the photos too grainy/noisy when the ISO goes above 200 for it to be really good in places like basketball stadiums or forests - or anyplace the light is not ideal. Also, to provide fast burst (it gets up to 10 frames per second) it drops the resolution from 12 megapixels down to 2 or 3, sor you can capture a lot of frames, but you can't get a decent print from them.
