Yes, that's something which is seldom taken into account when purchasing a new vehicle. Would you recommend more people buy second hand vehicles to reduce their environmental impact? They should reform labelling laws so people know what it is they are actually buying. Would you have had the conversion done on it at about this time too? I wonder what the proportions would be on manufacturing environmental damage versus environmental damage due to fuel choices & economy figures? Should not the manufacturer of every vehicle make such things known? The average consumer still has no real means of comparing every aspect of every make & model available to them on a level playing field. Do they still make Landrovers in Britain & is the whole thing 100% British owned?

I have to admit a strong bias towards reuse, in fact I am passionate about it, having made my workshop from recycled materials and even equipped it similarly. But this lack of information for customers is a good point you raise and one that should be taken up all the best urban

My word! That workshop... I wish I one like that! Me thinks in the USA customers would have it easier to obtain such information. They have rights, you know!

environmentaly. friendly Prius - Toyota Prius, 40 miles per gallon!
I just purchased a new Toyota Prius, and I'm thrilled with it. The Prius is one of the best selling cars of all time, and nothing on the road can get you there with less gasoline. This car has no starter, no alternator, and if its running on gasoline the engine stops at all stoplights. It has one gasoline engine and two electric motors. Its almost silent as you drive it down the street. I just took it on a 2000 mile trip, which cost $120.00 for fuel. It would be impossible to hitch-hike for that kind of money.

Nice no doubt but very environmentally unfriendly, such hybrid cars use more energy in their manufacture than a conventional car and conventional cars use more energy in their manufacture than they consume during their life. To be friendly to the environment it is more important that the vehicle last long then that it is fuel efficient and that is why Land Rovers which have such a great life expectancy are the most friendly. all the best urban

Why have I never heard of this before, and do you have any stats, or info that backs it up? Thanks!
