Life's Simple Pleasures.

Do you take joy in life's simple pleasures or do you look for happiness only in the grand triumphs that are few and far between? If we can accept that life itself represents a reason to smile we can also open our heart and mind to the wonder all around us. It means never turning a blind eye to any experience that has the potential to give us joy. Becoming aware of the delight to be found in everyday experiences allows us to get rid of boredom and make the most of each passing day. When we learn to find happiness in the small but potent of pleasures today, we will never have to look far to find joy. Do you agree?

Life's pleasure is hidden in mind of the people. But for me it just helping any poor people. It gives me the extra pleasure that I go on the top of the world. I know this shows my socialism but to do what I want or from which I get extreme pleasure.

Hi Pose, Nice words indeed. The road to happiness is to take every experience as a lesson and the capacity to be able to pick up the drops of pleasure and happiness. This is for sure that happiness does not often knock at your door but you have to chase it in the form of action and work. Ofcourse there is a slight difference between happiness and pleasure. Though one might not be damn happy one could see the pleasure content almost in everything one undertakes. But sadly life is more to experience pain than pleasure. None I guess would find pleasure in empty stomach and in severe illness. And major part of our life is covered by these elements which neither help us become happy nor feel the pleasure lying underneath.

Hi rajib, Thank you for sharing your thoughts here. While it's true that there is both pleasure and pain in life, we would do well to look for the simple everyday pleasures. It says little for humanity that that there are still people in the world dying of starvation or living on the streets. I don't know if there is any way to measure the amount of pleasure and pain in the world but I agree there is far too much pain. That shouldn't stop us however from enjoying life's simple pleasures. Blessings.

I agree. Grand triumphs have been few and far between for me, so I've learned to take joy in simple things. And by simple, I mean sometimes I set the bar so low, that it would be easy to please me. The two that I have enjoyed recently are: playing with my 3-year old as I get home from work, and waking the boys early saturday morning for some outdoor activities. These might just so simple to some, but it sure does feel grand to me.

To sum it all... the best things in life are free. The simple pleasures like hearing the cry of your newborn baby, the graduation march of your son or the sweet nothings you received from your sweetheart.

For me, I take delight in simple things like making people happy as well myself. Giving compliments, sharing hugs with friends, laughing with my family, Holding hands with my partner, watching the sunset You see, there are so many things little things that could make life happy. We just sometimes overlook the essence of these small things.

If you truly love your work, you will never retire! One's occupation can be an everlasting pleasure, a source of exceptional joy, and the complete fulfillment of life. This is the reason why, at age 76, I am still caring for, and working with, 400 colonies of Honeybees. In two days, I will be starting a 2000 mile drive, a return journey, from South Texas, USA, to Trent Hills, Ontario, Canada, back home again, ready to tend the bees, for another summer- after a winter holiday season in the sunny south. I'm always happy with life, and continually Thankful to have been so Wonderfully Blessed.

hi pose123 like a bright deep blue sky with marshmallow clouds scudding across it, the birds singing outside my windows. the neighbor's really pretty yard with bright flowers blooming. or the shy elderly vietnamese man who trots bravely up the street withhis cane and tips his hat and say hello to me whenever I see him. Or my table mate Perla who hands me a handful of ripe strawberries, huge ones so yummy, and she always has this big smile, a generous filipino lady who looks much younger than her y ears. To me happiness has to be in smalldaily things as here ion Gold Crest theres not too much really exciting things going on. But I have always loved nature, and birds and sun and flowers, clouds and blue sky they always make me happy.
