I have activated auto notification of every discussion a friend in mylot started and I receive all in my email. I started responding to every friend started discs and until now, I still have lots to respond to. Do you respond to every mail that is a notification of every friends discs? Or trash all of it because there's a lot of it in your inbox?

I do not receive notifications for when my friends start discussions. Right now, I only get notifications when people comment in my response box on discussions or when someone adds a new response box to a discussion that I have started. With just these notifications, my inbox is overrun at times, so I would not know what to do if I received a notification for every discussion that someone on my list of friends started. Even the "friends started" tab in the discussions section is full, and I have to page through sometimes to find one that interests me, because some people start a ton of discussions each day that not only are one or two lines and rather boring but also they never bother to respond to anyone that comments on them anyway. I guess that I should remove these people from my friends list, so that it will be easier to keep track of the ones that I actually want to follow, but I am too lazy to do that at the moment.

Thank you for the compliment. That discussion of yours sounds familiar, although I am not sure. I respond to a lot of discussions, and I respond in a lot of response boxes within one discussion, so it is very hard for me to keep track of all the things that I have done. However, I know that we have interacted quite a few times before, and that discussion does sound familiar, so I probably was on it. I really do not see the point in starting a discussion if you are not going to respond to a single person that comments on it, but I guess that everybody has their own reasons and ways of doing things.

hey there purple! Maybe all your discussions and comments are really fun to respond to or rather very interesting that you get lots of responses. Imagine your inbox flooded with notifications from responses alone? Wow! I have read most of your responses and you are really one good lotter. There are really mylotters who start discs that are senseless right? I mean it is not interesting at all and added that they don't have the essence of responding to comments. Were you in my previous discussion where discussions or starters that do not respond have that discussion as an indeed useless discussion?

I think you were there. Yeah we had healthy discussions before i think. Well, those people really don't know how to interact maybe that's why they just leave their discussions there or maybe they are only conducting a poll of how many comments their discussions could have.

hello there basqui, before, my notification was just turned on to just 3-5 of my friends...hehe and they are not really discussion starters! haha i just turned it on for them so that i can follow them whenever they started one. but for the last few months i decided to turn it on to some other friends, those that i have good conversations while responding to their topics, some really starts a lot and of course not all those topics that they started are the things i know, and so i just responded on the discussions that i have something to say or if i have knowledge of. the rest i just skip & delete. i also don't like flooding my email with lots of started discussions before, but now, huh! i always receive more than 50 messages daily! haha and till now like you, there's still a lot to read...hehe but its fine with me now.

yeah somehow its also really useful that we were able to see the discussions to respond right there in our inbox and no need to browse looking for discussions! but you know, usually all those notifications that i received half of it comes from only one person!

Maybe that one friend you have is really an active one. I hope his discs are full of sense to respond to. There are mylotters who start discs but does not have an essence of having good conversations.

Yeah, I really get more than 50 mails everytime i check my inbox in the morning. But it's a good thing if you really want to interact to many discussions right? But responding is not all, you must really have the knowledge about the topic so you wouldn't look like an off-topic responder.

Let me explain it. I have 266 friends till date and just 66 are inactive. Next 200, here 100 seldom respond to my dis or comment back to my response ( 1 out of 20) so let them go. Next 25 out of 100 starts more than 3 dis daily. ( here i tend to response 1, if i can). Next 25 out of 75 start dis where i cant relate myself. Next 25 out of 50 always starts dis within a long interval, so i pass away them unknowingly.(but i wish to respond as much as possible) And rest 25 are always cooperate me and i never skip their dis. So here is the status but all the numbers are supposed number. Here i want to say that i tend to response atleast one to their dis who respond to my dis. U may check it out. Hahaha. Have a nice day.

You really had the statistics huh? You have really tracked the activities of your friends well. I don't even have the exact count of my own friends. I haven't bothered looking at the numbers in my friends page. Active friends are really important in Mylot, even if you have lots of friends but they are inactive then your discussions would get less responses. I think even my upline is no longer active here but she is still earning from my activities,

Hi basqui, I only ON a few of my friends notification. So I would get less notification email from myLot about a discussion started by my friends. I do visit "friends started" tab to see all of my friends discussion. It would safe you time to look at your friends discussions then have to open it one by one on your email account. Even though I only receive a few new discussion notifications, I did not response to all of it. I had to look at that discussion first. If I had something to say about it then I will give my response. Otherwise I just deleted it. I agree that responding to your friends discussions is good but it is not compulsory. No one will argue about it because it is our choice, to response or not to response. No one can force us to give our response even though they are our best friends.

Hi basqui, That is why I only ON certain friends notification. Usually I did not bother to accept friend request but I do not like those who always post a lot of discussions at a time. Some of them even posts more the 10 discussions in less then half an hour. How could they do that? It is still acceptable if they care to go back to their discussion and give a comment on every response they receive. But unfortunately, these people only care to start the discussion but does not like to joint the discussion. I really do not know the reason they do that. If they though they gonna make a lot of money by just starting a discussion then they were wrong. We are paid for our own works and not others work. In simple sentence, we are paid for what we type here. If they did not give their comment on their responses, they will earn the same amount if their discussion receive one response or a thousand responses. But I really does not like one line discussion but this type of discussion is very famous here. This is not a question and answer session. This is DISCUSSION. You need to give your point of view on the discussed matter. You should elaborate your point or your problem.

Actually I had started one topic before that talks about those kinds of discussions. Those discussions that have a long list of comments but not one response from the starter. It seems it is just a useless discussion right? Those lotters think that the more comments the more earnings but actually is not. you are paid for what you type and what your mind pours out, right? I hope those lotters learn.

Yep, everyone has the freedom to do whatever they want to do about a friends discussion. There are some friends who just keeps on posting topics which are out of these world and some are just senseless to respond to right? I wonder why these people just posts anything but are senseless, this is not twitter right? This is Mylot!

As far as I am concerned, I think have not replied all the posts in the inbox, which can be a very large amount. I usually reply some of them, which I am so interested in. because there are so many posts there. I think I must have the right to choose which to reply and which not to.Have a nice day.

Hi fancy meeting you.... Well, it really depends on what my friends posted. If the discussion interests me I reply to it. My notifications are active on you. I get to know what You post and reply to some which I'm knowledgeable about... It's hard to reply when you got no idea about the topic. You know what I mean? have a good one...

did I? maybe your just interesting that's why I respond to it.. I really don't check who's the one starts the topic.. Read first then check who started it.. Sometimes.. People just start discussions for the sake of it.. You will really know who are doing it just to start one.. I hope to get to read some of your topics and thanks for responding to mine.. I don't really start topics myself.. Just very rarely...

Yeah, there are members here who just keeps posting new topics and they don't monitor it even if many friends have responded to it. They just leave it there to rot. Well, I don't usually start many discussions. I just post what I want to talk about. If there are things that came to my mind while I was walking or driving, I post it here and let friends comment on it and have conversations about it.
31 Mar 10
To be honest, I don't always have time available to check each and every email notification, so I switched off the notifications and instead I check all my friends discussions when I log into MyLot land. I always respond to my friends discussions first thing, before I check any other discussions.

Well I like mine as it is on my email because I just want to check from there without logging in to mylot first. It's the way for me to know the fresh discussions my friends have started. We have different preferences and as long as we stay active in the lot then we should get along fine.

hello basqui, in as much as i want to, i cannot accommodate them all! i have been wise in choosing notifications ON for select friends only.. sorry but i am just human and i cannot reply to them all so its just but wise to just choose which ones and not all friends.. if the topic is of interest to me, i would then reply but if now it will just stay there for a while and i might get back to reply to it some time. i periodically trash messages so it may still stay in the inbox for a while. :)

Everyone her in mylot is not obliged to have notifications if he wants to. Of course not all members are just spending their whole time getting into discussions so of course we have the freedom to respond to anything at their own convenient time. If there are really lots of notifications then I just browse to each one and respond to interesting ones only. I start to turn off notifications from friends who post senseless discussions. Hey, I just approved you request as a friend and hope to see you in more discussions.

You definitely are becoming an experienced myLotter, and I believe that you have probably even surpassed me right now. Time management I guess, I estimate the time where you guys are usually online and when all the fun stuff happens. I leave the catching up to shift to stalking. I can only stalk one to two person at a time specially now my internet is not that very friendly. Now the stalking begins

That is the problem that I face and really do not know how to reply to so many discussions but there are some discussions posted by friends for which I really can't think of any response so I usually tend to skip them because it is no use responding just to add a response. Earlier I used to feel obliged to answer to each and every discussion posted by my friends but then when I came to understand that not all my friends respond to the discussions I start it has become less of a burden to reply to their posts also but I do reply to most of the posts.

I agree that some topics started by friends are useless for sometime for they don't bother to respond to your comment. These are the common faults of most Mylotters. They think that simply starting a discussion could earn them bucks. I respond to almost all topics my friends start considering that I have the knowledge about that topic. I simply trash out those that are not interesting, the ones which are started just to earn them lots of discussions.

nop! for me i respond for every discussion that i have received. because i dont want them to get mad on me, because they are my friends, if they respond my discussion it means they really like it. why i'm not responding to them? despite i'm thankful for share with me their opinion toward mine. happy mylotting!

I read each and every mylot notification I get from my friend's discussions. I always have. I have always had everyone's notifications on. i have turned on everyone in my friends list too. and good thing, with new friends added in our list after the upgrade, we don't have to get back through all of them to turn the notify to on because it is now automatically turned on... it is also my practice to respond to discussions which my friends have started from email notifications. but not all that came in would be responded, as i also choose only those that i am interested or i can relate to. if i found them uninteresting, to me, then they will go to my trash bin after reading them.
