Is it just me or are blue Jeans quality gone to total CRAP?

ok i remember the days (not that long ago but maybe 2 years ago or so) when me and my husband could go jeans shopping and those jeans we would buy would last us awhile.. years even! sometimes only replacing them if they didnt fit.. we both bought jeans late last year and i did go to walmart and got L.E.I brand (so yes i know this wasnt expensive jeans) we had to go to a JCpennys to get my husbands jeans since he is tall and you cannot find his size ANYWHERE! and on sale and his were still like over 60 bucks which im not rich so thats pretty high for me but it was a good brand and figured he never really wears jeans unless we go out on the weekend so what the hell?? well.. a little over a month (notice the time frame to where i couldnt return them) the seam on the inner part of the pants leg at the thigh area was tearing.. as in one line of stitching was gone and if the other line goes it would be a huge rip in them! then his pock had worn a hole in it also and the crotch area stitching was fraying and material fraying.. WTF?!?! now remember.. my husband wears them at MOST 1 time a week and does nothing physical in them and its been like 5 weeks! when we noticed his i was wearing the jeans i had bought the same day (the cheap ones) and the seam on the inner thigh was doing the same! which i NEVER wear out my clothes. i mean i have socks that ive had for years now (my husband goes through them like crazy) now i can totally understand my jeans being the cheap ones wearing out sooner (even though i dont wear them much at all) but my husbands?? at that price being on sale? and the seams when we bought them looked normal and well done so i dont know how we could have even told before hand it would do it.. the pockets i can maybe rule as my husbands fault since he is rough on them (but usually after owning them 6 or more months!) but the crotch area? he wears carpenter style so its not like tight or anything anywhere.. anyone run across this? we love the style (and he is SO HARD TO FIT) he got but i dont know if i want to buy that brand again due to this one falling apart in over a month!! what would you guys do? not like i can afford to go up and there are no cheap jeans that fit him and he's not doing anything to wear them out.. thrift stores are out of the question because of his height.
