Return to sender?

Can you give a piece of mail back as return to sender even if you still live at that address. Or can you send the mail back to the sender and make it look like you don't live there with out letting the writer know you just don't want them to write you anymore? This is a serious question. If not can you advise on how to make something like this work with out telling the writer to stop writing?

I think you can just write 'return to sender' on it and put it back in the mail.

I think you can but you may run the risk of other things being returned. I would ask at the post office or your carrier the best way to do this. I know I have sent pieces to someone registered mail and it came back "refused". So I dunno if you just leave the same piece of mail in your box if eventually the carrier would take it back? Or you could just toss all the items mailed to you.
