especially an older one. Last night, I had this thinkpad running over three hours straight. It's an IBM Thinkpad A20m. I went to go on a site when I got the message that it was unable to find the server. So I thought, maybe it's down. But I couldn't go on any site. I decided to do a restart. When it came to my desktop, I hit the Opera icon. I got what looked like the Blue screen of death. it flashed with some words for a second, then thye screen went black. But it was restarting. I have windows 2000. when it came to the windows 2000 logo, with the blue dogts going across that says starting windows, it stopped halfway. I decided to shut it down. twenty minutes later, I went back to it, went to start it and it made it all the way to my desktop. But I didn't try to go on the internet, I just shut it down for the night. This morning I tried it, it it works perfect. So I've decided, at the most, one hour on, half hour off. So far, no problems. Any idea what happened last night?

i can use my laptop 24 hours without turning it off and its not hot. im using a laptop cooler nor cooling pad thats why it helps to help my laptop from over heat. though its not advisable to leave laptop open for 24 hours, i only do it during saturday and sunday with my bf from london. if its old laptop i guess it really need to rest for man hours.
