Women : Do you still have sleepovers?

this is a question to my non-married and married females out there.. now that you are an adult do you still have sleep overs at friends? im not talking the corny ones when you were a kid but like just hanging out and staying the night at your friends house etc? i know i used to not except for once when my husband was out of town on the holidays i stayed at a friends house and now me and my best friend have our own sleepovers because we dont get to see each other often due to work schedule and her living far away so we usually get together and stay at each others houses a few nights when we do get together to make up for lost time.. i know a lot of people probably think thats weird but i figure whats the big difference? as long as everything is ok at home while your gone and heck it would be better than a girls night out where people drink and drive!! so women do you have sleepovers still? even though your an adult? is it an often thing? or do you think its something that you just grow out of and should spend time on more adult stuff? *note that when i say sleepovers its just another word for gathering.. so no childish type activities, just hanging out and spending the night*

Hey moonlit! Good for you! I think that's great that you and your friend still can have "sleepovers" even though you're married! My best friend still wants me stay over at her house, but the only reason I don't is because I don't want to!lol And my girlfriend next door to me used to sleep over too and she is upset because my bf moved in and she can't sleep over on the couch anymore! It's not that I can't sleep over, or they can't it's that I prefer not to and my bf really doesn't feel comfortable with anyone sleeping over because our apartment is really small and there isn't any privacy! But, if I wanted them to sleep over he would be ok with it or vice versa! I go away for 10 days to Florida to visit my Mom and Lonnie stays home with my cats to take care of them alone! He loves it when I'm away! He get's the whole be to himself and gets to do whatever he wants when I'm gone! I think he likes it a bit too much!lol

My three best female friends are in MI, MD, and OH, and I am in Ontario Canada. Every now and then we get together in one of those places, and spend the weekend together. Last time was in Ohio for our Ohio friend's birthday, and we crashed at her place. It was a ton of fun. I wish they all lived closer.

Well I do, but usually it's one of my daughters. But we stay up late talking, or watching movies, etc. When I was living in Pennsylvania and then Virginia, my oldest daughter and I would go to weekend scrapbook retreats, normally with 2 other friends along too. We usually stayed up to 3 or 4 in the morning, the scrapbook room closed at 3, but once we went up to our hotel room, we'd stay up laughing and talking for an hour or two. It is fun to have a sleepover, even when you get older.

why is it fun stuff is considered not "adult" ?? are we sposed to just wither up and never be fun when we hit certain ages?? pahlease! i dont look at them as "sleepovers" per se.. but i do, have, and will continue to have random people over and they wind up crashing at my house. if we sleep at all LOL junk food is a necessity.. movies, music, why are these things not "adult" ?? pfffft

Since i live alone, and most of my friends live far away....yeah i do the sleepover thing. I have a few times thought how weird it might seem to someone else...but hey its not their life. Its the same as going on vacation and staying in relatives houses...its just that i am going to another town and hanging with friends.

I think it is a great idea to still have sleepovers, doing different things is good for everybody, it gets you out of your routine of the everyday busy life.

It depends - If my friend lives close by I'll often just go for coffee and such and come home. If its a couple hours drive I'll go and spend the weekend with said friend...or they come and spend the weekend with me. That way we get a chance for a good visit without having to pack in a really long drive each way on the same day.

Me and my friends still try and have sleepovers at least every two months where we chill around at one of the houses and watch a movie and then just sleepover. It's quite fun because we have such good banter and we go crazy and everything. I hope it stays like this :)
