Do you say YES so quickly?

Perhaps many failure in our life starts with saying YES so quickly that we have not yet clarify the problem before we accept assignments. Someone says yes to his boss right after the boss tells the tasks. However, has he understood what the issue actrually is and does the task really can be finished? what about the time frame and the resource? Is it a emergency? Any difficulties? Before we have figured out the answer of all these questions, it is too early to give response to the boss and is rude especially to say YES. Imagin that we simply say yes to a mission impossible and we are not as strong as Tom Cluise, whar stands in front of us is an inevitable failure. Will you still say yes so quickly?

Yes, most of the time. I'm a people-pleaser and I hate that about myself. I feel like a loser sometimes.

i used to say yes too quickly but i do not anymore. i used to find myself always and forever doing favors for everybody and having no time for me. i have my own problems and issues to deal with so i have learned to say no and take the time to deal with my own stuff. and believe me, after all the help i gave i do not see alot of people running to my rescue now when i need them. so i am glad i learned to say no.

Yes, many problems arise because of our eagerness. We say YES to things so quickly if we are interested in it. Sometimes even though we are not interested we say YES. Generally we get know these things by experience and definitely it brings a change in us. As you said after getting experience we never say to our boss so quickly and mindlessly. We think before doing something even in circumstances where we are in a hurry. So buddies don't try to impress you boss by giving mindless replies.

I understand what you mean. I have been in such situation before. Well, later on I was able to adjust and realize that there is no harm in verifying rather than saying yes and not doing what is right.

No, never. I take a few time to justify the matter before saying a yes or no. I dont want to regret after giving a answer. Yes, i have the ability to complete and then my answer is yes.

It is not easy to say yes if I have something in my mind that needs to be clear. I have to clarify first all things in question that pop in my mind.It is easy to say yes then later on there are mistakes on the job or things to accomplish. Better be sure to ask question of what to do and then say yes when you fully understandal everything.

I have more of YES than NO to whatever things i'd choose to do or so and that has been one of my weaknesses.

I used to I would say yes all the time and in doing so I would end running myself ragged because I would have more on my plate than I could handle. So I finally had to learn to slow down and learn that it was ok to say no every now and then.

I have such experiences. Sometimes when a friend asks me to give a hand for something, I give a promise. While later I realize my that the thing is beyond my reach. What I can do is just to try my best and the result is hard to sactisfy my friend. It's a dilemme. Maybe in the future, I will think carefully before promising others.

I say Yes waaaay too quickly :( and I've ended up in sticky situations because of it. It feels awkward to say No when you know you can do the task, especially when the person asking also knows you know.

enix119 this really depends on what kind of boss you have as some will give you time to think over whether or not you can do the assignment, others will simply not let you have a choice. so not much you can do with that kind of boss. If its a boss thing, I did learn to say no as my boss w as fairly reasonable. in other instances I have learned how to say no,no what part of no do you not understand? Took me a long time but I now know when I cannot do something and just politely say no sorry I just cannot do that at this time.

Hello there. Saying "Yes" cause me trouble all the time. I don't know how to say "No". And after committing my self it always end end up hurting my partner. This is one of the bad traits that i would like to change. Have to control my self in saying "Yes" all the time. I say "yes" before thinking the consequences. I easily say "yes" when 'm in shock, in a hurry and other instances. I am so weak in saying "no". the word "Yes" manipulates me often.

I think before i say yes that's for sure. Come to think of it i'm not the yes man type. I say no most of the time. I think of the consequences first then answer it with what i can come up.

When I was younger, I did say Yes so quickly that I myself didn't know what hit me. I had matured enough since then and now, very cautious of the word "YES". I learned that if you say yes and what you really meant was NO, you destroy your integrity and credibility.
