Is magic jack waste of money?

I used magic for some time before, but I wasn't satisfied with it. It is cost - saving; you can make local and long distance calls unlimited with a charge of $19.99 per month. But I have some problem with its functionality later on. Probably its software, or the unit I got was defective. Although I called the customer service, they couldn't help me anything, instead to charge me more to replace a new unit. Have anyone use magic jack? Do you think it is up to your satisfaction, or is it waste of money?

I have not used magic jack before myself but I do know what you are talking about. I think with anything that is a good deal we run into the possibility that the good will not be satisfactory. The price may be awesome, but the condition of what we receive may not. It'a not right that they would have to charge you for a new unit but I think at the same time that's most likely how they are getting their money, through faulty units.

I actually forgot about it having to be used from the comptuer, and of course your right the computer would need to be turned on. Also the programs could mess up the computer, and that is not good either.
