Stinks like a sewer,rotten garbage,bad cheese,blocked toilet,yucks ! this are but some of the descriptions of durian i ve heard from people esp westerners or those not familiar with the fruit,As for me ,strangely , i dont find anything unpleasant in the smell nor the taste,on the contrary,i love tasting it and i m quite good in pickin out a high quality fruit by the smell,knowing what the taste will be like just by smelling it and tapping on the skin of the fruit.Its not named king of fruits for nothing, to me its delicious and smells not pungent at all.You either love it or am disgusted with it,so if you are familiar with durians why do u like it or hate it? I am wondering if there is a middle ground,tolerate it but wont taste it,or like the taste but hate the smell,which category are you under?
