It was announced that in planning the automobile will be de-emphasized and more resources will be devoted to bicycles, walking and mass transportation. In the Utopian Society this sounds soooo nice. In reality it is the gasoline tax that pays for our road, mass transit, biking and walking paths. This will be nice for the large urban areas. In 75% of the country it will not work. I live 20 miles from the city that has the major shopping centers. We have no public transportation. But we will be paying for the Urban Bike Trails , walking paths and public transportation. This is one more example of Big Government stealing from the majority to serve the minority.

Yep. I know around here it won't work. It is pretty spread out here, with a lot of rural areas. Mass transit won't work...so we will be paying for something we can't use.

I was driving near a college town and they had bike/running/walking trails next to the highway. I had to slow down several times for bikers and runners who were in the highway - why i don't know but we built the trails for thousands of dollars. More than once when I give a short honk to warn them I am passing I get the finger from them.

ah such it up and roller skate the 20 miles for a gallon of milk, stop being so unpatriotic. How are welfare families supposed to check in with their case managers?

Well, Stupid is as Stupid does.
Those clowns who want their bike paths have o grasp on reality.
Al Gore is an ardent believer in everyone giving up their cars and using bikes instead... everyone but him and the rest of the Liberal Elites that is.
The Liberals are doing everything possible to destroy our economy, our liberty, and our way of life.
This is just one more way to accomplish their insidious goal.
