I'm Missing Susan Boyle...

When I think of an "idol" or a "star", I think of being captivated by the person's voice and wanting to go out and buy a CD or download the music. With this year's American Idol candidates, I'm not inspired (yet) to buy anything. The only one that comes close to that is Crystal. In the mean time, I continue to find stuff by Susan Boyle... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WFoc6Ihl0w&feature=related. Would you buy any CDs/download music from any of this year's "crop"? Are you missing the calibre of a Susan Boyle this year on American Idol?

I agree with you a million percent!!! I didn't download a lot if Susan's stuff. However, I did buy her CD. 
I heard both Simon & Randy comment that this year is the best crop of artists Idol has seen to date & I STRONGLY DISAGREE WITH THAT!!! 
By this time last year I had a full CD of Idol downloads. I like several of the contestants this season, but NONE are setting me on fire!!! Crystal has a lovely voice, but her personality just leaves me feeling cold!!! Katie has an extremely good voice, but I just don't think she's ready for fame. I feel the same about Aaron, Big Mike is probably my favorite singer, but even he's not doing anything worth paying for!!! Personality wise, I like Tim Urban the best, but his ego is beginning to get in his way. If I was going to pay for ANY of this years contestants, it would probably be Lee. I'm just waiting on something better out of him!!! I'm also not seeing the competition between the contestants so far this year. They ALL say they want it, but NOBODY is really competing for it!!!

Yeah, I don't think this year's contestants even come close to some of the years past. I'm still for Crystal, but you're right, her personality needs some development. I like Katie and Aaron, but I don't think they'll make it to the last. Heck, Katie almost got booted last night. Big Mike, there's just something about him I don't care for; I haven't put my finger on it yet. I don't care for Tim or his voice. What more can I say. Lee did really well last night and I like his voice, but I'm still a Crystal fan (so to speak).
