Okay here's the deal. I have a 9 month old cat. With some issues seriously.
Okay let me explain one thing she does I have never dealt with before and I've had cats.
My cat Bella, yes she's the one in the picture, I got her as a stray since she was a tiny baby. Like maybe a week old. She's gotten so big anyway. She's deathly afraid of strangers. Literally no joke. She is scared of strangers that come in our home and even of people that are just walking around outside.
Which is a problem because people are walking outside everyday. I leave the door open to let air circulate around the house, I live in Texas and its hot right now. (Trying to keep the electric bill low.) Anyway, forget about holding her when she sees someone she doesn't know, She'll claw and bite you to get away from someone that is like across the street literally.
They don't have to be in the house. So someone help me, even I tried maybe helping her by holding her and sitting next to my grandmother who tried to pet her and Bella bit her instead. So if someone can help with that one issue is greatly appreciated.
Cause I have another. At night, because Bella gets into everything, we leave her in the cage in a seperate room. She will cry very very extremely like bothersome loud in the middle of the night. She'll cry herself to sleep. Same in the morning. So many people have told me just to let her cry and she'll stop. The problem is its extremely loud. I never give into her crying and never have. This is something that I thought she would get over, since she's been sleeping in the cage since she was a baby. She is now 9 months old why is she still crying at this age. Is she still in her crying stages, if so when will she get over it. What else can I do to keep her sleeping at least during the night. She's been on a schedule since she was a baby too. Lights out at 2 in the morning out at 12 in the afternoon. But she wants to stay out later than 2 and get out sooner than 12. She's had that schedule forever, never been changed. Omg I feel like I'm talking about a baby. But someone please help.
Thanks.

I don't know what to do about the stranger thing, sorry...but I might have a couple things you can try for the night cage thing...
Have you tried moving the cage she sleeps in into your room? And also first of all how big is the cage she is in? She should be able to comfortably turn around. Anyways, having the cage in your room might calm her down.
If that doesn't work, or you can't do it for whatever reason, you could try just keeping her in a bathroom at night, it'll give her more room. You could have a litter box and water in there with her, and maybe a toy or two to keep her occupied.
Good luck! I hope I've helped!

OH yeah! She's 9 months! For some reason I was picturing an adult cat lol.
Yeah she might just be lonely. Also, something else just occurred to me, you could try draping a towel over the cage (is it like a cat carrier or is it a real cage with 4 sides made up of bars)? If it's a carrier you could drape the towel over the door, if it's a cage you could drape it over the side that would NOT block her view of you.

Yeah we actually draped on the sides of the cage, its a cage cage, and she actually quieted down. My husband said that she may think its time to come out and play when light goes through the window and she's probably thinking hey let me out. But she was all good this morning. Now if we can keep her quiet in the night would be nice. She may be lonely too, I don't know what to do with that except put a toy in her cage, but she still cries.
