where I live there is me and 3 other ladies so out of respect I always put it down and knowing I will here about it if I don't. Unfortunately I have a friend that will come over that is used to living just with his dad and I have to remind him to put it down. If I leave it up I know my sister would have a fit about it cause sometimes she goes in without turning the lights on downstairs. If I would not put it down since I am the only guy there I know I will get the blame and I did the one day when my friend forgot, but what can I do about that? does anyone else deal with this ? do you always remember? I do my best to always put it down, but I am not perfect. any story you have about this would be nice.

I will always put the seat down unless I forget or am really tired, but sometimes I am not sure if I did it and I go back in and check just to be nice.

I'm female, so I never lift the toilet seat in general, but I do make sure to always put the top of the toilet seat down. We have three cats that really enjoy getting into things and we've had one of them fall into the toilet before, so we try to keep the top of the toilet seat as often as possible. I'm also used to having my little sister around and she gets into everything, including the toilet, so it's safer that way. As for the women you live with, remind them that you're not perfect and you do make mistakes. Tell them you're sorry it was up, but it's not always your fault and you do it out of respect for them. They never leave the toilet up for you even though it would be more convenient for you. You try to help them out as much as possible with that, so you shouldn't get yelled at when you forget once in a while. I know plenty of guys that don't ever bother putting the toilet seat down even if they're the only male because they figure the women could do it by themselves.

yeah I know that I am not perfect, but I do my best to be nice and always put it down and I don't usually forget, but when my friend comes over that is another story all together cause I have to remind him cause he is used to living with just his dad and not having to do that so I have to remind him to put it down, because one time he was here and didn't and I got blamed for it. My dad since he has to put it down will put the lid down too figuring if I have to put it down they can lift the lid up, but that seems silly to me.

almost by default... hehe you being the only guy there. lol is this a question just for the guys? hehe where i live, we have 6 bathrooms. each room has their own. so i'm the only one using mine when i'm alone. but when my nephews and nieces come over and use the internet in my room... sometimes somebody will leave the toilet seat up. hehe but i don't freak out. lol not like my sister. i could hear her freaking out in their side of the house. lol but what amazes me most is my 2 year old nephew back then. he is so house-trained he never forgets ever, to put the toilet seat up before using and down after. hehe even when i was assisting him in the bathroom. and he just turned 3 yesterday by the way. hehe

wow that is amazing they have him trained to do it at such a young age and even if it is not me that does it somehow i get the blame doesn't seem fair sometimes, but it will happen when you live with a bunch of women.
