Sound better leaving than when they're competing

Am I the only one who thinks the contestants sound better when they sing their farewell song than when they sing during the competition? Didi sounded fabulous after she was told she had the least amount of votes. Paige sounded the best since hollywood week after she was told that she was going home. Its too bad they couldn't sing that well when it really mattered. I don't know, maybe once the nerves are gone they can sing their best. I'm not a singer so I don't know how its go. What do you think?

i think so too, actually. when i watch the farewell song i can only scream silently in my head, "why didn't you sing like that???". i agree nervousness can be one factor of many. especially didi is such an emotional girl, it's easy to 'wreck' her. maybe it's because they're relieved too that the pressure's now gone.
