Hello Everybody, I am sorry for asking such a small question to you. But I am little confused at using this phrase. when can I use 'on' and 'with' for Experimenting. I want to write "Experimenting on/with web". Thank you.

Well mostly i use experimenting with and again it depends on where you use, rather i can ask someone "experimenting with friends?" and "experimenting on animals"? You can find the difference here.

Usually the correct usage would be "experimenting with" - as in "I'm experimenting with using various cleaning agents on concrete" It would however also be correct to say "I'm experimenting IN the use of . . ." The English language is quite confusing, and it is CHANGING. Not many years ago it would have been very wrong to compare something TO something; the correct usage being to compare WITH. In the same way, something could not be different TO but is different FROM (and the Americans even say different THAN!) However, nowadays those alternatives are accepted in many circles and such differences are no longer taught in most schools.

i think you say "experimenting with "when you are referring to the object/thing .. for example you have an electronic device and you want to work on it to see any results. you say "experimenting on" when you do not refer to the object but refer to the type of experiment , for example you might say you are experimenting on generating electricity , etc
