YouTube reccomended videos for you.

YouTube has implemented a brand new feature (well not BRAND new, but its been here for a while) the "recommended videos for you". It checks the videos that you have recently watched, then generates a list of videos for you on the homepage, that are similar to the videos you have watched previously.
I really wonder on how the mechanisms for this feature works. I have had some bizarre/unappropriated recommendations based on totally unrelated videos.
I watched a video on a NHL Hockey Fight, and then I got recommended to a video about Zac Efron...
Sometimes the recommendations can be weird, but other times you can find really good videos from it.
I'm just interested to hear if anyone you have had funny/weird YouTube video recommendations, and if so post them here ;)

Youtube uses the tags in videos to recommend other videos from what you have previously watched. I agree it should do ones that you have rated highly on and not just any old rubbish.
I watched a video about a talking cat (dont ask why) and it suggested a skateboarding dog, not that bad a suggestion as loved the skateboarding dog

oh I actually was on youtube awhile ago and I find the new setting a bit weird and I don't seem to like it. It is just confusing.

I've had some pretty bizarre recommendations and some good ones. I hate how it's based on videos that you've recently watched and not on videos you watched and rated good. I've had recommends based on videos I know I only gave one star (back when there was a star system... :( I liked the star system.). Even the recommends on videos I favorited aren't that good. I don't think I've ever had a recommended video that I really loved, just a few that I kinda liked.

wow that is really pretty cool. i had no idea that they put that new feature in. i have not noticed that new feature yet until now. maybey they will update it even more pretty soon.
