Scanner Problems

I would like to be able to post some pictures on here but I can't because I'm having scanner problems. When I punch "scan to computer", it will say "downloading application list". Finally, it will say "cannot retrieve application list". Can anybody tell me how I can fix this problem? I feel like it might be because my computer is infected with spyware. I have Stopzilla on my computer but it doesn't seem to be detecting all of the spyware problems. Does anybody know of a free anti-spyware program I can get that will correct this problem?

I think you have to install the driver. If doesn't work you have to kill the virus. Try some other anti virus.

Thank you for your response. I have about 4 anti-virus programs installed but none of them ever kill the virus that's effecting my scanner. The printer will print but my scanner won't scan. How do I install the driver? Kathy.

First what is your operating system? What kind of anti virus do you have? If they don't kill it change it. If you buy scanner or printer there is a cd included w/c are the driver of your system. If they haven't given to you as them. If your O.S. is Xp pro then try to deep freeze so that no virus can attack your computer.
