Being a teacher is not an easy job and depends on what a teacher will teach in school.Being a teacher in the University is quite different from a teacher of a kindergarden.Well, sometimes a teacher will receive some gift from the students but sometimes a teacher will also receive compliant from the students'parents. At the same time,a teacher will get more workload from the school Principal or other teacher as well.I think we all have different experience with different teachers.Share with me if you haveany idea that a teacher should be in todays world?

Hi, friend. Actually, i'm a college teacher myself, and i do love my job. It's true that there are many differences between a college teacher and a middle school teacher. A middle school teacher has to take a lot of responsibilities while a college teacher doesn't have to as college students are required to be more dependent on themselves rather than on teachers. But whatever the case, a teacher should be faithful to his/her job.

It is always a tough job to be a teacher.Responsibilites and class preparation are truely a heavy job.Sometimes, you need to prepare for ten hours before you can teach a one hour course. Especially, when the subject is a new one for you, then you will probably need more time to prepare for it.Sometimes,I feel that a teacher is like cook who needs to prepare a good and delicious foor for the customers. Will the customers like it,who knows? And after one day ,there comes another day.Looks like it will never stop. But one thing for sure the teacher is different. For the teacher needs to be a role model to the students. It is easy to teach academic and knowledge, but it is hard to live out a model as a teacher and teach students about life lesson.A college teacher in nowaday may not need this but a middle school teacher for sure need to live out a model for his students.Well,I think the teachers in the east are quite different from the teachers from the western world. In the east ,we pay high respect to our teachers in the good old days(that means it is not anymore by now sicne everything is changing),but in the western world, the students can get closer to the teachers as a friend. This phenomenon will hardly be seen in the eastern world.Anyway,I think we should honor the good teachers in our life especially when they live out a role model to teach the students how to live as a human.

Hi, friend. I highly respect your views on teachers, but i don't think there are too many differences between eastern teachers and western teachers. You mentioned that in western countries students can get closer to teachers while in eastern countries it is a completely opposite case. Maybe it's true in old days but i don't think there is much distance between my students and i. Actually, my students regard me as a good friend. They talk to me about their troubles, and ask for my advice on somethings. I've never thought them as my students, but rather my younger sisters and brothers as i myself is a young girl too. As to the preparation, it does take a long time, but not as many as ten hours. I think it depends on a teacher's professional knowledge in respect of what he/she teaches. A teacher who has taught for many years is certainly much more experienced than a new teacher and it's natural for him/her to finish preparation within a short time.

The most important thing that I think a teacher in today's society needs to be is that they need to be in touch with the technological advances that are being made in this world. I think that a teacher should be constantly striving to increase their knowledge because of the fact that the world around them is constantly changing. In addition to that, I think that it is important that a teacher be very patient because there are never two students that are exactly alike.

it depends on the teachers personality. When i was still studying there were teachers i love and there are some that i hate. I think it's still the same nowadays, you can find a lot of good teachers and a lot of bad teachers.

Well, i have lots of respect on teachers, they are really polite and genuine and dedicated to works. But i heard some are accept gifts. But so far, i met all are really true dedicators towards the job and they feel more proud seeing us in big positions.

It is realy a good topic. The role of teacher is more and more important. They should not only give students knowledge but also how to be a person. Different teachers have different methods of teaching. Good teacher can impress the students in their whole life. Once the students grow up, it is a meaningful thing when they feel honor upon their teachers.Good luck to everyone.

yes being a teacher is a bigger responsibility. in the society. only from two persons a candidate learn. one is his parents and other is teacher. so there is a need of dedication. i think those teachers who are just professional are really not the teacher. teachers are those who treat their student as teacher only. there is no synonym for them

A nowadays teacher should be flexible. Students nowadays looks so out of place and the teachers should be guiding them back to the right path.

I know what you mean. Its really a tough job being a teacher and there are a lot of demands. I experienced teaching elementary school kids and high school kids and college students all at the same time. It was really hard, if you think about the transition from elementary to high school and then high school to elementary to college. My job as a teacher in high school and in the elementary school was my primary job and teaching in college was just a part time job. I think the best part of being a teacher is to have an influence on the people you are teaching whether they are in elementary or whether they are in high school or college. The things that we say as teachers have huge effect in the lives of this people and it better be something that they can do in their lives in the future.

Teachers today are tested by how well there students do then they were before. They have to constantly re-educate themselves and be tested themselves. i think it is a good thing. On the other hand some of these teacher forget what it is like to be a student in the grade levels. They lose touch when dealing in grade school levels (I am sure other levels to) and put these children on their level of understanding. It is harder to get children help when they need it. The constantly testing to learn certain material because of testing to pass the grade level and funding attachment is harder now. My child wants to be home schooled because she is tested almost everyday of something or another and its hard. This was not like that when I was in school. I feel for these children and teachers. The ratios of teacher and student are high. There is no way you can give your attention to each student respectively in a day. You will receive more attention in a private university than a public one. Its funny though the focus is on children but that is the first thing they get rid of in the way of public funding, money for the schools, grants, etc.... But we must invest in our children. They make parents become the teachers where they slack off. How do you do that when the parents are not from the country, read, or speak the language that there children attend a school for education? I also have a problem where students pass even if they fail the fcat becuase hey have these issues but a child that speaks the language and struggles cannot. Sad situations all around. Take care...

Teachers should be innovative in their style of teaching nowadays. Students easily get bored if there is too much input coming from the teacher alone. A good idea is to allow the students to participate in the discussions. Make them report if possible. Allow them to use eye catching visual aides like powerpoint presentations. Utilize videos if you can. These strategies might help in the learning of the students. All the best!
