Do you think that poverty can ever be greatly diminished or almost disappear?

It is hard to see people especially children dying of hunger. I was reading about this fact, and the way that resources and money are incorrectly shared by people worldwide. Did you know that if only the investment in arms and bombs were reduced by 1%, thousands of children would receive basic primary education that right now they are not receiving? If only we share wealth more equitably this would be a much better world!!!!!!! Please share your thoughts

i guess poverty will not diminished though it keeps on growing specially if those poor people still have a lot of kids and yet their kids will also have their own life as a poor, so it will multiply than to subtract. but if the government give control to those poor couples who keep on giving birth every year like allowing them to only have 1 child so they can give their child better education so that child will grow up not as poor but at least with good life.

Its not that easy to eradicate poverty, or to even talk about diminishing the said thing will be merely impossible. I said merely because theres still a chance a very slim chance that is. If people really want to minimize poverty then it has to work both ways, people working with the government to solve social issues and concerns that will be a good start. People cooperating with the authorities regarding doing what is right and refraining from doing something wrong. If we are able to keep up with these kinds of action then there might be a chance that we can indeed fight poverty theres still hope all we need to do is to start it off within ourselves. Thanks for reading and asking, happy mylotting!

i think this kind of poverty can be diminished when the humans will be the humans. i think there are some who wants that it should be vanished from the world but some are still there who want to do their business on the same ground. and mostly they are politicians.

As far as I am concerned, I think the poverty can not be greatly by diminished or almost disappear in nowadays. As we all know that China have become the first country hwo has the most A widening gap between rich and poor. The gap can not be disminished easily. People are trying their best to earn,in that case, the people who are rich get more rich .And the poor get more poor.

Its a fact actually that there's lots of people are suffering of poverty but i believe it can be lessen or disappear if the government who's handling our country are not corrupt and greedy. If only they are giving what the people deserve to have. If only they will not think of their self first. Poverty will rise and grow bigger as long as there is a selfish person handling ones country.

we cannot totally diminished poverty, what i think is that it is just the way to balance the nature, here in Philippines poverty is widespread, well i think thats why the government is there to help the poor but not totally make them rich it is still on the person if he really wants to get a better life.

I found out the detail of the 20 poorest countries in the world. Nepal is in Asia but all the other countries were in Africa. Many of those countries weren't the ones that are popular with tourism. There have been some success stories in Africa like Kenya. It has a gorgeous looking palm fringed coastline and reserves were tourists can go on safari to see wild animals. The Gambia has attracted beach loving tourists with its golden sandy coastline. I don't agree with bombs and I don't support war. If there is a famine in a poor country international aid should to go to its assistance. Education is one answer to improving life in the poorer countries. People will need to be able to get work when they grow up. Unemployment needs to be got rid of. All people need a safe and clean water supply. I think poverty in the future will be decreased dramatically but sadly I doubt it will disappear completely.

I was not aware of that fact. It is sad all the poverty and homelessness in the world, especially the increasing numbers because of the economy. I hope one day this world will be mostly rid of poverty stricken people, but it would take a lot of effort and generous charitable people, which is sad to say, this world really doesnt' have.

It's part of human nature to want more (greed) and with that greed they must find a way to keep themselves on top (if and when they get there). The super powers in the world need to keep developing (including arms and bombs) to keep their position on top. Without it they might be the ones that fall to the bottom and end up with poverty levels high above the acceptable level. By giving to the "invisible children" they are opening themselves up. Hmmm...although when you say 1% I question how much good basic education is to the children for example in Africa. Would they really need to know that Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492? Could this money (if some nation -or- celebrity donates it) be used to provide sanitation, food, or birth control? Sharing is caring, some people only care when it benefits them.

You can reduce poverty as much as possible but I don't think it will truly disappear. Sure, money and resources are incorrectly shared but will it even be 100% correctly shared? Probably not, especially with the simple human nature of greed.

I wish. They have said that if money divided evenly today, we would still see a division variance as time goes on. Spending by some faster than others. It takes money to make money.
