Is there any real difference between Fate and Destiny. Arent they both really the same. Karma the power of your own thoughts and actions, does it change your life, or is it just something that you would LIKE to believe in. Personnally I think what happens happens, you cant change certain outcomes. What I mean by that is , no matter how positive and happy you feel when for example entering a competion, it wont change the outcome. How do you feel about this.

it is said that when you smile at life it smiles back at you people who think positive and take positive everyting and everybody around them seem to be luckier only luck needs to be helped - and that's also carma :) if you did everything to avoid loosing on that competition you will certainly win sometimes things happen beyond our abbility to chane anything but hapiness is not about what happens to you, it's about how you take it when you learn to be happy then destiny and fate will be at your service

Unfortunately there is no easy way or lesson on learning to be happy. I understand what you are saying though, even if something goes bad or not to plan then you should always try to look on the brighter side, and find the positives. This is a frame of mind, sadly not everyone looks at life like this. Is the glass half full or is the glass half empty ? Which way do you view this.

I most definitely believe in the concept of Karma! I think that it's very important to remain positive throughout life as this really does affect the kind of life experience you will have. I also believe that it's important to be nice and polite to people. Chances are if you do wrong and hurt others then you will have to suffer the consequences of your actions and this is Karma! Do bad then bad is coming back at you and hundred times worse! Do good and by the same token, good is coming back at you a hundred times over! I think that we each have the power to create our own lives. I guess our thoughts and thinking can be very powerful if directed in the right direction. I guess this is the game of life! I'm still learning and I will never fully reach where I want to be in life! Andrew

True, you have to buy a ticket before you can win the lotto. So maybe just buying the ticket is the first positive karma thought.

I believe in Karma, which is why I always try to help anyone whenever I can, even just doing little things like giving up your seat on a train can be a big help to someone, I believe that good attracts good, so if you do good things then good things will happen, and even if they dont happen straight away at least your still doing something to help someone. Using your example of entering a competition, I believe that if you constantly say that you wont win, then you wont, I know its a matter of luck but you should always try to have a positive attitude.

I totally agree with your thoughts on doing good towards other people. It costs nothing and it's simply good manners. Trying to keep a positive attitude towards everything can be very difficult when things go wrong or not exactly how you want them. So I guess that must come down to will power. Dont you agree...

Oh yeah definately, it can be very hard to think positive at times, especially when things are difficult, so I carry around photos of all the people who make me happy, and on my laptop I have a file full of pictures that make me happy, just to keep looking at whenever I feel down, I also try to laugh as much as I can everyday. Just to try to keep the positive vibes coming. It can sometimes be hard though I do agree with you.

Pictures of things that make you happy, thats a very nice idea. Laughter is good for your health and for people around you, unless ou are laughing at them, which I am sure you would not do.

I am a Hindu and I believe and follow Bhagwat Geeta. This book says that everything is karma. Whatever you go through in life is all the result of your karma. In scientific terms, like Newton said, every action has equal and opposite reaction.

I think, yes there may be differences in these 3. Fate is what is what we are born with. Destiny is what we are to be in the future. Something that is already written - that life that we are to be faced with in the near future. I think both fate and destiny are of the same, or may have similarity - something that people will be born with... it is what is written in their life to be. Karma is entirely different though. Karma is the result of what we do - it is the end result, we receive good karma if we do good things, bad karma if we do bad things...and maybe we could be fooled of what is happening to us.. we might mistake our fate as karma, or karma as our destiny...

If you mean destiny as in events that will happen in the future then yes I believe in destiny. I don't think any supernatural entities have anything to do with destiny. I believe destiny is more like a history book as oppose to a letter that tells you to do something. I believe people have a choice but that they can't change their destiny. In other words I don't believe that the future can be changed otherwise it would be a paradox.

maybe karma because after i volunteer, my karma bar is filled up. and it is used in numerous ways to help me. but i think it is just effects on the brain. i think that you did something good so you expect something good to happen to you. So you act and think in a very positive way maybe.

It's human nature for people to believe on something that's working for you. People who is on a "high" may believe on fate, destiny or karma. (In that case Good Karma) There's nothing wrong in believing such things but the problem lies when people "depend" on their fate, destiny or karma. Example.. "I am destined to be this and that and a lot more..." But the sad fact is that being "destined" isn't enough. You have to work to achieve your destiny and in that "working" part, most "destined" people fail. Same goes with "worthiness" Example... I know for a fact that the other guy is more "worthy" than me for the position but I won't just roll over and die because he's "worthier" than me. I will work harder while the "worthy" person will just be it... "worthy." And that makes him, well UNWORTHY!! As for me, I don't believe in anything but hard work!!

True, very true. There really is nothing better than hard work and just doing the best you can. No-one can ever fault you for doing the best you can.

Fate and destiny are just the same.. Anyway, I don't believe with that because we are the one who have control in our life.. Yes, I believe in Karma.. so we have to be good in everything we do..

I believe in destiny but not 100%. I still think that I can create my own destiny and that life is a matter of choices we make. Sometimes, when I can't decide, I just leave it to fate itself. But I decided to live my life the way I want it to be and not let fate control my life. I was actually inspired by Paulo Coelho's lines in the Alchemist: "At a certain point in life, we lose control of what's happening to us, and our lives become controlled by fate. That's the world's greatest lie." You're right about what you said that you can't change certain outcomes but I think what matters most is what you actually did to change the outcome. Like in a contest, if you're really determined to lose, and you did your very best, it doesn't matter because the satisfaction that you feel in knowing that you put your best into it is already comparable to being a winner.

i believe in this three, but sometimes i am believing in saying "we are the one who make our own fate and not destiny" karma means to me that "what ever you do to other, the other will also do the same thing"
