Isn't it ironic?

Well, the song Ironic of Alanis really is true in everyday life.
Well, last Saturday, I was lazy to go out of the house so I turned on my laptop and logged in to yahoomail and mylot. There were many discussions to respond to that morning so I only started 3 discussions for myself. Then as responses were pouring in, my cousins called me to tell that we are going in a resort for a swim. So, I shut down my laptop and went with my cousins. After swimming we went home and as i checked for my discussions, i was surprised to have many responses, 30 that is. It's the highest response count for me yet as of today.
Well, here it is, when I am in front of the PC all day and start 3-5 discussions, I usually get less responses, but why did I get more than I expected when I wasn't online? Isn't it ironic? It could have been good if I was online when others responded on my topic.
Have you experienced these kinds of irony? It's like someone wakes you up just to ask if you are asleep.
Or there are many cars to ride when you are not to travel but there are one when you are waiting for one. Please share ironic experiences you have encountered before.

One ironic thing that happens over and over again... I'll look at the grocery check-out lines with a full basket of groceries and the lines are short. I think about pulling in to line, but I remember I forgot the milk. So I race back to the milk section, pick up my milk and head back to the lines. I'm thinking "alright, I'm going to get in and out of here...". Sure enough when I get back to the lines, all the lines have 10 people standing in them. Next time, I'm going to forget the milk and jump in line.

actually the only thing that's ironic about the song is that nothing in the song is actually ironic at all...

I was trying to leave the house, but I left the house keys inside and realized that I couldn't lock the door.
This morning, my bf walked out the door with the house keys right past me(we were going to share the car today) and I was like, "Hey, You have the keys, we need to lock the door!" Then, on the way to the car he asked if I had my license. Whoops!
Here I was thinking he was an idiot for not remembering to lock the door, knowing that I didn't have my keys with me, until I realized i was just as bad. Blame it on no coffee. I did have a bowl of serial, but my brain was not re-booted yet!
I was gonna drive the car back home after he drove to work so I could go to my "joy joy" gyno apptmt today.

Haha yes I got myself an organic coffee,"Dancing Goats"brand at my fave coffee shop after getting inspected at the gyno office today. He put his finger in my butt after he said,"You're NOT gonna like this.."Anyway, I got a clean bill of health....

Hi basqui. I have never understood the mylot phenomena. Sometimes I start a discussion in which my opinion it is really good and I expect to receive a lot of answers. Most of the times I am disappointed with the few responses. But there are other times when I start a light hearted discussion and it receives a lot more responses than I expect. Mylot is unpredictable as its users are.

It depends also the time you post your discussion, if there are lots of users online or not, the tags that you use to promote your discussion.

That's just life... hehe ^_^ and teaches us to expect the unexpected, as well as being prepared and not to take everything for granted in life ^_^
SOme things we think that it's good or rather the best we have done, but to others. it's not as good or even boring.. It's just the mindset we have in us, to determine what's the best for ourself ^_^
If we do want something that's not ironic, for example your case, put other's interest before your own.. IN this way, u will find alot of things, coming your way, really unexpectedly.. haha =D

hi basqui yes it is so funny as I will make a discussion I think is really good and get maybe twenty responses yet I make one thats to me just so and so having to do with ideas about when we should or should not drink water and got so m any responses I could not believe it.So you just do not know when you trigger something in people or when you just get a few lukewarm responses. It does make life here interesting. I have got so I do not make discussions every day then I have more time to keep up on comments back when I get many more than I expected. Life is always a bit ironic. like this noon, I was sleepy all morning so figured my blood sugar must be up, but when I checked it at noon it was low which was good of course but confusing. but this makes mylotting all the more interesting. Happy Easter.

I don't really think that it is ironic that you got more responses on your discussions when you were away from your computer than when you are actively on your computer. The thing that I've learned about the discussions that I start on here is that they will either get responses or they won't get responses. It doesn't matter whether or not you are on your computer, what tends to make the most difference is the content of your discussion.
I hope that you will continue to have great success with the discussions that you've started.

I used to make a discussion before I go to sleep and respond to it by tomorrow when I wake up. It's either you had a very good discussion that almost everyone can relate into or maybe also because of the time difference we mylotters have. It's not that ironic at all you will soon get the hang of it and later find out that the number of responders is negligible if you comment to every responder then that's a discussion

One time i was looking for a cheap set of guitar strings in this music store but they had just ran out so i bought an expensive one. When i came back to buy me a pick i saw a couple of cheap sets of strings had been newly placed beside the counter.

Maybe it's the time of day, It depends on:
1. How many people are on
2. What time they're on
3. How active they are

Well, I usually start discussions in the morning, Philippine time which is GMT+8. I don't know if it is because there are more online but I have seen responders which are newbies and some are not. Well, I think the inactive ones were not logging in to Mylot eh? So are those that responded to that particular topic of mine active?

But, i think you should go for a swim more often. That seems to help a lot.
Just be carefull not to get to wrinkled to much from the water. TATA.
Sure, i never say no for a swim.
Just remember i won't help you if you drown. TATA.
