I got most of my garden put in last week. Earlier this week, I made my little hills for the watermelon, cantelope and cucumber seeds. I've been watching everyday and nothing's happening. What's wrong? After you've planted your garden, do you find yourself impatient with the growing process? It's like I want the tomatoes, beans, cabbage, watermelon, etc. NOW. How do you learn to be patient?

Stop watching them so intensely. Sounds like you have planted and done everything that is needed to get them started. You may have put the seeds lower in the ground which would take longer to sprout. Be patient, you will see results of your work soon.
My daughter is going through the same thing. Wanting everything to be up and growing Now...lol

One thing that keeps her from watching 24/7 is her job, lol
Otherwise she is always checking.. all I can say is be patient.

So we started planting last week. I ran to the store and produce was a crazy cheap price. I bought a bunch! We have been eating lots of fresh produce everyday. It doesnt even come close in taste, but at least we are getting something!

It can take up to 2 weeks for the seeds to germinate but sometimes if you soak them a day or two they'll go a lil faster.
I'm not too impatient with the process. I'm impatient waiting for the frost dates to go by... I can't really plant til atleast Mother's Day at absolute earliest or the safest date is Memorial Day wich by then you are better off buying some plants from the green house and maybe doing a few from seed.

Wow, that's late. You must be way up north. I'm only 40 miles from the Mexico border (near El Paso, TX). I started several things with plants to get a head start. But the watermelon, cantelope, cucumbers and beans were from seed. I didn't soak them, I probably should have. Still nothing yet. But I keep watching for sprouts.

I guess another week. I woke up this morning and here is snow! Crap
