If I would break someone, Id rather talk to him in person. As to details I can text him and tell him what was not discussed on our meeting. Texting is so impolite for me, be civil at least.

i wouldn't txt and i would think less of a partner who did - its spineless and disrespectful. it belittles your importance (how ever temporary) in there lives and the relationship you had. say it to my face.

I think it would be very rude to text someone that you would like to break up with them. I think that they deserve to be told in person. The latest I have seen is where you can record the message for the break up, and get it delivered at a date and time you nominate. It would be very embarassing if you chose the date and time, and then were with them when the message came through. Or, they might have just found out some bad news, such as that they had cancer, and you have arranged for the details to be passed on to them later. I would much rather be told in person, and to do the telling in person as well.
