hi friends.
i know its a strong allegation and i could be even wrong.
from the way kallis started this year IPL,everybody believed that he wants to silence his critics that he can play T20 cricket too and i was indeed proud of the way he played.
but in the last 2 matches they lost, one against chennai and other again delhi yesterday, you get the feeling he is playing for his 50 rather than score quickly.
against chennai he scored 52 of 49 balls and kumble openly critisized him for not forcing the advantage during the 14 over and bangalore lost the match.
yesterday he scored 54 of 42 balls when the required run rate is around 9 runs per over.he hit a six and a four after the 10th over before he got out in the 15 over and he never played like hitting the ball after the 3rd over.
may be he suddenly went out of form or the usual boring delhi bowling was bang on target yesterday.
may be he also wanna taste of the hideous orange cap this year which he is leading.

you pointed out a very good thing .
I also feel so .
He just want to be in the crease for 10-15 overs and he will not take any risk.
the other batsman have to fire .
he will just go with his play.
in the last 2 matches if he fired a littel bit earlier RCB should have won the match.

but in one or two matches he was not upto his best.
Remember he is an opener .
he has to give a quick start,he can take his time about 20 balls .but he will do it only after his 50.

I think he is going wrong with whatever plan he is having. In T20 matches, 40 runs off 20 balls innings is for better than 50 runs off 40 balls innings. And openers need to just that.
This is the problem RCB facing. If they cannot correct it then definitely they will lose more often.
Kallis shouldn't take it for granted that other batsmen will cover up by scoring quickly. He needs to score quickly too.
Team management should have a talk with him about his approach.

his role is to save wicket falling apart as the batting line up is reduced to number 6 and he did exactly the same thing, others were expected to hit harder, but alas they couldnot, so they lost the match, had they hit as they were expected to, then the story would have been different and perhaps you have been saying the other way too
he is role model for many and as a cricketer have loads of respect, so that can never be the case, njoy....TATA

I don't think so.. because i think IPL is not a game.. it is a business... so every players want to performs good.. and want to earn money.. so their is no bad thing in this.. also Jacques Kallis is a good all rounder.. and he plays well.. in this IPL-3.. so their is no any bad things.. if he plays only for orange cap.. have a nice day and keep mylotting always..

I don't think so Kallis is a good player and I do not think that he would be playing just for the orange cap. You cannot expect someone to be in great form all the matches. Even Yusuf Pathan is a good player but then he also is not playing well is some matches.
