I have a child that I support through our church mission organization. It is called Child of Promise and support is $25 a month, depending on the country. Mine is Africa.

I support a children's project, but it isn't an international/world project. I support a Native American children's project in South Dakota. I support it with money and clothing that can be given out or resold. I don't have to look internationally, I have places to support right at home.

I agree codeofuniverse it is important where but that we are all trying to do something. There are so many organizations out there that it is hard to know what ones are legit and that was why I went with the one through my church. I have been supporting mine for 3 years now. It has not been a hardship at all. Hofferp, you said you support yours with clothing. How do you do that? Can you share more?

Right now our family isn't really able to financially able to help those that are less fortunate than we are. However, that doesn't mean that I don't like to do what I can. We do volunteer our time at the local food bank and help them in ways that only people's time can do. I hope that when our children get a little older we will be able to work together as a family to help support a child in a third world country.
