This evening I am having a Tastefully Simple party at my house. For those of you that don't know what that is, it is spices and stuff that are designed to make preparing food easy. Well, this got me to thinking, when you are having a party at your house, what are some of the things that you do to prepare for the party that you are having? Me, I've been cleaning and I am going to shampoo the carpet. And I've made sure that all of the toys are out of the way. Of course, there are still a few clutter points in the house that I don't think I'll be able to do anything with. How do you prepare for a party?

Call my sister and ask if I can have the party at her place. Hehehe Actually, my house is so small that no one room is big enough to host a party in so we usually go to my moms or sisters. I will help fix the food and do what ever cleaning they need done.

At first I had considered having the party at my mother's house. But I never got in touch with my friend that was the consultant to change the location. It all worked out well though as one of my neighbors came and a couple of my friends in addition to my mother, sister, and sister-in-law.

The free stuff is definitely a big motivator for it. I think I'm going to be getting about 20 dollars in free stuff, which isn't a ton, but I'll also be getting one item at half price so I'll be able to get the big collection that I've been wanting for only 100 dollars instead of 200 dollars and that is awesome for me.

Hopefully you had lots of sales and got a bunch of free stuff for hosting the party. That is why we do those crazy home parties, isn't it? LOL

One of the things that we needed for the party last night was tortilla chips. I just got a beautiful Tupperware bowl that I used to put them in. There wasn't really an atmosphere for the party, but we did have a good time.

That's where I get honors of taking the kids out for the day & I bribe hubby to clean the house as he does it faster than I & better. I'm too putzy and worry about details too much.

That definitely sounds like a plan. Maybe next time I will have to do that and see how it works out.

Hi, doranmwin. I will clean up first really good. And I will have everything ready for the party out. I will situate everything into order. I will make sure that everything is accounted for. I planned a Birthday Party for my son some years back and it was a simple and quick party. I had about five different things to eat. And less than 10 people that were invited. It was a fun and enjoyable party. I hope that you will enjoy your party at your house. Have fun!

I had a wonderful time with having the party at my house. It was great to have friends and one of our neighbors over. I'm trying to take the opportunities that I have to get to know my neighbors and doing things like this is the perfect opportunity.

Since i am alone at home and don`t/cannot go out due to my disability, i have parties at my home. I am really not a party person and it is only in the last 2 years that i have been having get togethers of my old school classmates, at my house. Since there is nobody to cook, we generally order food from outside, from a good hotel and share the bill amongst ourselves. Since there is an equal number of drinkers and non drinkers in our group usually someone from the tipplers brings the booze and those who are teetotalers do with soft fruit drinks or Coke or Pepsi. On my part iarrange for disposable plates, cups and spoons and also for the soft drinks. When the grub comes we all do self help and serve ourselves. We had this type of a party in Jan this year when 2 of our former schoolmates came , one from USA and the other from Canada and we had great fun. We are all senior citizens but young at heart and we enjoy ourselves like kids do.

It is really cool that you can get together with your friends and have a good time with each other. I like the idea of ordering food in and I know that is what I do the majority of the time because I can't clean the house and cook at the same time.

Clean, clean, and clean some more. I'm a bit of a clean freak, and I hate having people over if I feel like my house is anything less than perfect. I always make sure that things make sense for my guests. I'll put out an extra roll or two of toilet paper, so that my guests don't have to find where that is should someone use the last bits of a roll. I get all the cutlery and dishes out beforehand if there's something being served. And I always try to have something nice smelling- a candle or something. I love good smells. :) Have a great party!

The cleaning was a big thing for me, but since I've taken the time to make things look good, I know that the maintenance of it isn't going to be so bad. In fact, right now I'm not ashamed to have people in the house for the first time. The one exception to this right now is my office, it is still a disaster, but it shouldn't take too long to get it in shape.

i dont often have guests over to that extent but clutter is a big area that i would have to take care of plus a bit more heavy duty cleaning than i do right now.

What I am really happy about with the cleaning that I did do is that right now our kitchen and living room look wonderful. All that is left to have the downstairs of our house looking excellent is the office and my bedroom. When I get those under control I'm going to be thrilled with my downstairs, then it will be off to the project of getting the children's rooms and the upstairs landing clean.

I've never heard of a Tastefully Simple party . . . that sounds neat. Can I come over? Hee hee!! I was just looking up how to make my own Cajon and Creole seasonings! Preparing for a party . . . cleaning is definitely a priority. More than likely no one will go into our bedroom, so that's where all the clutter gets stashed - ha ha!! I like to get the bathrooms sparkling clean (somehow my mom got into my head that people can see how clean you keep your place by looking at your bathroom). The places where the guests will be, particularly the couch area and kitchen eating area, have got to be cleared . . . but places like our computer corner I don't work on as much (except to make it look "decently" cleared off). And food is definitely another priority. I like to plan out the food and how I'm going to prepare it all ahead of time so I won't go nuts in the kitchen that day. I loved how my friend would think of everything for her party except for napkins . . . I can't believe how many times she forgot to buy napkins and there were rolls of toilet paper at the table (not kidding!!).

The great thing about Tastefully Simple is that the food aspect of the party is already taken care of. You prepare some of their products and then the consultant brings some more for you to sample. The food is really good as well, and so easy to prepare. If you are interested in it, look up Tastefully Simple online.
