I came across a simple but globally accepted phenomenon. Every time I see an ad of a clock, it shows 10:10 i.e. hour hand in 10 and minute hand in 2. Not only in TV ads, some of clock shops also clock are showcased as 10:10. I try to find out but not getting any proper reasons. Some says it looks good, its a sign of V (victory), and so on... Do you know the exact reason? :) or :(

I have seen that but i do not know the reason exactly. It is maybe some victory sign V or some kind of superstitious belief.Whatever be the reason,i think it was meant to be lucky or auspicious.

Not only you, many people don't know the exact reason. You are right, It may be possible that it is a sign of victor V. It may be possible that it look nice at that time (style). Face with smile \/, or any memorable time (in honor of someone) behind it. Lets see what other says. Have a nice day.

Maybe a clock looks like a round face with minute hand and hour hand as two eyebrows. At 10:10 they show a happy expression like "\/" as the face is smiling while at 7:20, they look sad like "/\". So, hands at 10:10 look more positive.
Another reason is about geometry. At 10:10 the angle between hour hand and 12-6 axis is 59°, almost the same as the angle between minute hand and 12-6 axis's 60°. Symmetry is beauty.

Nice information, yes there might be these reasons behind this. Most of the people don't know the exact reason, thanks for your information. You defined it very intelligently by slashes. Have a nice day.
