Can you find out what a person has been texting?

Recently a friend told me that a girls husband accessed her cell phone records somehow. She said he was able to get all her text messages and what they said. Can you really do that? I've heard another person did that too. I know that if I go onto verizon I can see the numbers of people I texted. But is there a way to find out what was said in the text messages?

I don't know about your country, but in Malta, mobile phone companies do keep a record and will provide written proof if requested by the police in a crime investigation. Other than that I don't know if there is any way how one can get to know what another person's text messages consist of.

You can see it on the phone, of course. But online? I've never heard of that. Maybe he's on the account and some carriers keep records for the account holders?

Unless you delete your message history, your phone will show you every text you've had. Hubby and I go through and delete every texts every couple of days so our phones don't get too full. I do tons of texting!

I think if you are good in spying then you really can find out.

that would be a really interesting thing to find out, I personally don't know if I would want to see all the text that were sent to or from my sweeties phone, but I guess everyone is diffrent. Makes you think you must not be able to trust someone if you have to go through such lengths, huh? Well I would love to know how one would find that sort of thing out, just because of pure curiosity at this point.

I don't know how someone would do that unless they got a hold of the phone & it had internet on it, then the messages could be emailed and printed out. Some people are sneaky enough to go through someone else's phone and do that. If there was something I didn't want anyone else to know, I'd delete any conversations that I had. On my phone, I can find the number of texts sent out by each phone and how many were received but not the content.

I'm sure there is something out there, but I don't think that's really a good thing to do. It seems like an invasion of privacy and a lack of trust in their relationship, personally. I was actually wondering this the other day, because my dad said he could find out what I was texting if he wanted to, so I got curious and looked it up, but what I found was pretty inconclusive.

I never knew a person could do this if the messages are already deleted. But I guess there must be a way since people like the FBI, etc. can find these things out.

I don't know if there are programs that can do that. But maybe his partner's mobile phone can store as much as many messages on his inbox including his sent items. My phone is actually like that.

Uhm, maybe his network provider stores all transaction of calls and texts. I think that's it, I'm not sure though.

hi, if a person failed to delete received messages or at the sent items, then his/her partner if will browse could possibly read the messages, much more if it is kinda fishy. i have experienced this with a friend before, i know i should have not browse over her phone but at least i discovered something...i have a phone.NOKIA 6280. even if the messages have been deleted but when i plugged it on my computer, the old messages appears..it is possible as long as the unit is configured with your pc/laptop.
