Do you think that people who are shy or timid are more easy targets for people who like to bully or boss people around? I know I became someone's punching bag and was ordered around because I was too shy to speak up for myself. What makes people shy?

I am not quite assertive myself, I can't speak up as native speakers say, it is really a weak point of mine and I am often criticized and pointed at as the guilty one of anything. I would like to be able to speak up for myself but I just can't seem to do it and attending trainings is a bit too much yet.

I understand how you mean. I am a America but still am shy I don't speak up for myself I think because am afraid of hurting the other person.. or because I fear saying the wrong thing. IN the end I suffer for my shyness more then the other person.

yes, most of them are the victims of bullying because they doesn't have enough confidence to face other people. People become shy because they don't believe in their self.
