A friend of mine is going to have a baby in the fall so we were talking about Baby names. I looked mine up and was surprised by what I found, it had the same basic meaning in several different countries. It comes from the English and means GRACE. Which really made me like my name more since it's fairly common, I was never all that happy with it. Do you know what your name means and where it came from? If not, here's a site that should help you find out more! Are you happy or sad with the results you find? What do you think of made up or original names? http://pregnancyandbaby.sheknows.com/pregnancy/baby/Baby-name-finder--Look-up-name-meanings-542.htm

My name is really sound unique among others. However, it was my aunt who gave me this name. According to her she loves to read comic books. And one of the fairy in that comic book named Ada. But when I look at it in the url you gave it says that its wealthy in english and joyful in german. I like from now on I have another meaning of my name.

How special that your parents had your aunt help with your name choice! And I think creative names can be alot of fun. That way when someone calls your name, you know that it's you that they are asking for. When I was in school, I'd have to look to check and that got old. And how nice to have a double meaning!! I think your aunt would be very happy to hear that your name means joyful and wealthy since you brought both to your family. Thanks for sharing!! Take care!!

She is the youngest sister of my dad. Since my dad loved her so much, so whatever she wants sometimes my dad will just follow her. My mom has no choice but to have her name for me. But my mom add second name into my name. Probably she will like it more if I'll tell her about the other meaning of my name.

My name means 'she who listens' or 'she who hears God', depending on where you look for the baby name meaning. I'm not really disappointed with it. I don't particularly like my name, but the meaning is pretty cool. I wouldn't really say that I would be one who hears God or anything, but I'm a pretty good listener and people like to come to me for advice, so I definitely like that part. ^_^

I'm really feeling better to know that there are several other mylotters who also don't really like their first name. I thought it was just me. I really would have liked it much better to have been named after my mom. She who listens is a wonderful meaning and now you can tell your parents they named you well! And being a good listener is an act of kindness that God would be pleased with. I can see why you would like the meaning as it add's another positive about your name. Thanks for sharing!! Be Well!!

my name is apparently the femenine form of the masculine name of Charles. Charles was my grandfather's name and since my parents had no boys, i got the name.

I think that's wonderful! I would have prefered my middle name which was my mom's name and my dad pushed for that to be my first name. But Mom was in the delivery room and overrode his request. I think it add's to a sense of family when there are children named after beloved people like your grandfather. I bet he was very happy and proud!

I agree that it's fun to see what the name choices are and what they mean. I had no idea that my name meant Grace until I checked. Makes me feel better about it. How nice that your name means Friend. I have a very common name and had thought about changing it when I was younger but never did. Now I like it abit more! Thanks for sharing! Take care!!
