such a cute timid bear...

i am talking about this video showing a little bear who is afraid of everything (even a shadow). i know people would have mixed feelings about it. some said that it is so funny to watch the expression of the bear, while some others said that it is a kind of abuse/cruelty towards the bear. actually, if you view until the end of the video, the timid bear was successfully trained to be able to defense itself. the bear is no longer afraid of the lion and monkey (and shadow), in fact, it's the other way round. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdCnuxNVhgg

hahaha =D I think i prefer the gals of the show, rather than the bear and other animals in the video!! lol =D I find the video to be kinda funny but i do pity the bear as well.. haha =D The bear is like being exploited or being teased at his vulnerability for being timid.. I wonder what happen is a baby is inside there instead?? lol =D

do you mean that there must be someone inside the bear costume? if really yes, i think i would have to give that person an award for acting so real because the expression is more like a scared human rather than a scared animal. yeah, if you do not watch until the end, it's easy to jump to conclusion saying that the bear was abused/exploited/teased. but i think that it is a good training process for such a timid bear in order for it to learn to survive. in fact, the training process was successful as we can see how the bear defend itself at the end of the video.

I thought it was cruel to be entertained by this poor little fellow being bullied and frightened but as I watched till the end I noticed how he turned the situation around do that he became a bit of a bully himself! I can’t think why they would conduct such an exercise...

yeah, we just could not understand how/what the japanese think and we could hardly accept some of the japanese entertainment shows. but because i have watched a lot of japanese shows, so i were sort of got used to the way they do things, although i don't completely agree with them doing this kind of training to the animals. to be honest, i still remember the first time when i watch the japanese prank shows, i could not believe that such thing was called entertainment in the country. how they do pranks on human (regardless of their age) is really crazy. this is an example of some japanese pranks compilation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-Z8X5YF5Zg if they can do such this type of prank to human (which could cause the person to die of heart attack), filming animals in such a way was really something very much less cruel for them to do.

wow, can't believe that you laughed at the video. i thought how they treat the human are worse than how they treat the animals? actually i expect you would scold me like the two respondents above you.

Thank you so much for sharing, I see this discussion is 3 years old, you requested my friendship so I checked out your discussions and saw this one, I watched the cute bear and I laughed, bless him, so so cute! I have had bad news today so watching that bear really really cheered me up. I know you can't but you just want to cuddle that poor little bear. I bet now he's fierce and frightened of nothing!

hi wolfie34, thanks for dropping by. yeah, i think this is one of my last started discussion before the recent one. i felt that the bear is really cute so i shared with all the mylotters here. but unfortunately, most of them does not like this video because they felt that it's about animal cruelty as the japanese were seen torturing the bear psycologically and emotionally. and my reputation dropped from 100/100 to 98/100. anyway, i'm happy that at least this video did cheer up someone after three years. i'm really glad that this video made you laughed and relieved you from your bad news. it's a great feeling for me!

I think it's monstrous to do a bear this way. This is out and out cruelty in my book. I agree what ever zoo this is in I will never enter one foot into. This video was not cute at all.

hi quita88! you are such a animal lover. but if we look from another point of view, let's say, they would like to release the bear back to the wild, but the bear was too timid and could not be able to defend itself. so through such a training/test/experiment, the bear learnt the lesson of survival of the fittest. the ending is wonderful as we can see the bear has grown up and know how/when to defend itself from being bullied.

I've never seen any animal be so frightened! Not even my own scaredy-cat cat It's pretty cute, but at the same time, I want to reach into the video and coddle the little bear. That poor thing was so scared I'm glad he isn't so timid by the end though.

thank you for your comment, mayuko. sorry for my late reply. i think that's the way the japanese train the bear to be a brave and independent so that it could be able to stand on his own.

yeah, without the ending, the whole video would be an abuse towards the animal, or merely for human's entertainment purpose. but that ending is wonderful, who knows they did the training towards the bear in order to release it back to the wild.

Yes I have to agree with whoever said it was animal abuse. I am not sure which zoo this is from but I wish I did, they will never get my money to visit them. I can see getting animals over their fear of other animals but the method used in this video is just plain out cruel.

if you look at the expression of all the audience in the video, at first they are laughing at the bear. but at the end, all of them are shocked to see that the bear was able to defense itself from being bullied. i don't know what's the purpose of doing this test/experiment, maybe they want to release the bear back to the wild? who knows...

hi, i saw that video. i found it funny though too but, in a way its just a piece of animal cruelity. well, bear is shy in nature .so at first i think its just that it never seen before and the lion cub was aggresive as well.and the little monkey like its nature is always been the curious too. but the little bear did show its nature in the half of the show by scratching both of them. in animal world too it only takes some time to discover the natural instincts of the species.good video for the children to study the animal behaviour...thanks for posting it.

thanks for liking it, sunil_008. yes, i do think that it's a good way for the children to study the animal behaviour through this video. when you look at the first part, where the monkey jumped towards the bear and the bear was so afraid. but in the end, the monkey jumped again towards the bear, but was grabbed hold by the bear, and was slammed to the ground. i wonder how long they took to train a timid bear up to that stage?

For one thing this is not funny at all another thing to me it looks so fake. It looks like yes you see a real bear but the scared bear looks like someone in a suit. Has anyone ever seen a bear act like that when he is scared? This has to be one of the stupidest things I have ever seen. I didn't even watch the whole thing. I think whoever put this together is a real idiot. And if this is real which I highly doubt why would you even want to show something so mean and cruel? Animals are God's creatures and this is a form of abuse. If you are going to share things about animals there are plenty of you tube videos where we see a lot of loving moments, and things that are funny do not cause harm to anyone. Shame on you for sharing this. THUMBS DOWN!

And no matter what you say people can make fake videos all of the time. With technology growing it is not hard to do so I am not taking your word this is real. It is also stupid and very cruel. of course you have the right to have your own opinion. but don't think you are so smart and condemn others with the word stupid. You have a very strange sense of humor. what?? did i told you that this video is funny?? i said the bear is CUTE!! I know at points there is a real bear mixed in with a guy in a bear suit. That's what I mean about being fake. again, you can have your own creative imagination and i respect your thoughts. You shouldn't believe everything that is on you tube or every video you see and tell everyone it is real when clearly this isn't. now you are crossing the line. you can have your own thoughts and opinion BUT you should not force others to think the same way as you think! did i force you to believe that the video is real? did i ask you to stop telling everyone that the video is fake? then why are you doing otherwise? As for the end of the bear going after the other animals isn't funny either it is cruel to the animals. again, i NEVER said the video is FUNNY!!! or whichever part of the video is FUNNY!!! if you mean the title of the video, that is not my problem because i am not the person who uploaded the video!!! Next time I want to watch funny animal videos I will watch America's Funniest Videos those are real and no animals are in harm. now this is weird. if you kept saying that the video is fake with human in a bear suit, then which animals are in harm? the human? the lion or the monkey? is there any blood involved? i just began to notice one thing, you are just being racist. you just hate what the japanese is doing. anyway, i am not a japanese or a pro-japanese. i know you preferred the america's funniest videos so just continue with it, nobody stops you and force you to love japanese videos anyway. I don't need to watch your stupid video. Next time you share videos think about what you are showing. again, stop insulting others with the word stupid because you are not the smartest person anyway. and you don't ask people to stop sharing anything, if you don't like it, just leave it. there are people who finds it useful. you are not representing everyone in this world, so just stop forcing people to think the way you think.

i do found the scared bear looks like someone in a suit. and yes, i have never seen any bear with that kind of expression when it is scared. really, it's more like a human's expression. but no matter what we say or feel, the bear is real and the video is real. i do appreciate your thoughts/opinion but since you did not watch the whole thing (especially the ending), you should not jump into such a conclusion. think in this way, maybe they would like to release the bear into the wild but the bear was too timid and might not survive if it stays like that. so through such a training process, the bear was finally be able to defend itself. i know you are an animal lover, and many of us also. but there are many things in this world could be viewed from the positive side. in this way, life would be happier.
