I have often been hearing that being emo as a negative thing. I personally find being emo a positive thing for writers like me because we need to be in touch with our emotions to give the reader.

The term "Emo" is definitely used incorrectly by a large number of the population. It refers to a style of music, but people are claiming to be "Emo" when they have absolutely no idea what it is. Typically, being "Emo" is a negative thing because people don't claim you as a "true Emo" unless you listen to scream-o, cut yourself, or whine all of the time. I think you're looking for better words than "Emo." Try "extrovertive," or maybe "emotionally in-tune." :]

It is good in some ways like showing emotion. Writing. It is bad in terms of. You may tend to be to emotional. You won't understand others. Everything has a good and bad. You just need to balance it.

Yes. It is good to show your emotions, but it is bad to dramatize them. It seems kiddish and self-centered when you go on and on about what you feel.

Emotion is a part and parcel of Man and its centre is the heart chakra in the psychic or astral body of man.Emotions can be positive and negative depending on many factors and circumstances which we come across in life. It is good to be emotional but care has to be taken that they are always kept under your control. the moment you allow them to gain an upper hand then you are in deep trouble. anger is an emotion but when used judiciously it is of help and when allowed to go on a rampage then it can be disastrous. Real creativity comes when you have all your emotions totally under your control because it is then that you can see the world disinterestedly and without any bias.If you develop this quality it will be of great help in your writing career, rather than letting yourself be carried away by emotions.

well that can be an advantage but that doesn't mean you have to be so emo. its a negative thing if you cannot handle your emotions in public as people might feel you are weak and many false assumptions which might not be good for you!
