I do feel a bit mad even angry when in the day i heard people ring my door bell just to selling their thing and they keep talking and i often can not say no and buy their thing the thing that i don`t really need or want, something that i have to buy when i can not say no:) often pretend not to hear the bell rang so i don`t need to coming out and talk to them but some time is not good when who is on the door is my friend and i make them to wait just because i might wrong with house to house seller, and since i live in Japan i like to pretend that i don`t know the Japanese language so they will just leave cause i will not able to understand them:)did every one often ring your bell door for selling thing?and how you handle that my friend?

Haha. Here in our country Philippines They dont go to houses sometimes. They will just shout what they are selling and bring their items. If someone goes out they will just said if they want to buy. Thats why its not a problem here in our country. The only problem here is some people dont have anything to do is playing in our doorbell.

Nope, since they are humans and doing their jobs as vendor or carrying stuffs to be sold. Sometime I just bought even one item or say no when I don't like the items or insufficient fund for my savings only or I don't have money. I do entertain them with smile at porch only. I salute these strangers doing self-reliance rather than the burglars or thieves. That are dangerous in the streets. Some they are really annoying and motor mouth cos want to convince us. Some beggars are so annoying in our door bells but I gave drink or piece of bread to eat. Instead of being starve in the street or turn holdup-er or thief in the street. Some vendor are smart enough to sell their stuffs, some have very tired eyes and begging appearance to sell their things. In festival times there are lots of vendors tired and sweat on their faces and their clothes are wet. I offered food to eat and they possessed happy face. And full of gratitude or thankful words out in their mouths. The greatest thing they remembered my face when I'm in other cities. I felt good, and most of the people told me familiar face. May be they remembered me. Have a great day, Anitarei321. More power!

definitely. more so if they ring it continuously. i once slipped on the living room floor when i hurriedly went to out to see who has been ringing the doorbell incessantly. i really thought there occurred an accident or an emergency. what i usually do is to tell the guy that the owner of the house is not around and that i am too busy to accommodate him.

haha we don't have door bells so people just call on us whenever they need to talk to us. We seldom have visitors so when someone calls out on us, we gladly talk to them.

I do angry. I think they should ring the doorbell once and wait 1min before the next, as courtesy. If they ring it too often, you think they are kids doing some ding-dong-ditch. If they want to sell a product, they should wait for their customer to answer and they have no right to get impatient.

Well, in my case its not just people selling, but also teenagers asking for donations because its summer here in my country and a lot of kids have joined the summer basketball tournament. But joining means they have to come up with money for their uniforms and it really irritates me when I find out that its only kids soliciting for their basketball uniforms.

I guess that every person has to make a living. I feel sorry for people that have to sell things at other's doorways. They must suffer hearing no thanks again and again from different people. I hate to get phone calls from people selling things. I am ex-directory for that reason. That means I am not listed in the phone book. It is very sensible of you to pretend you don't speak Japanese. The other day I person knocked at my door trying to interest me in religion. Again no thanks was my polite answer. I think many people pretend that they are not in when a door to doors salesman calls round.

Hi anitarei, I don't care for the door to door sales people either. I know they are just trying to earn a living but it is an intrusion. If I want something, I will go out and look for it. Whatever it is they are selling is never anything that I actually need and is usually pretty pricey. I don't hide from them. I just tell them that my budget doesn't allow it and that's it. Don't let them in the door and tell them right off that you are not interested. If they persist then close the door. Don't ever feel pressured into buying something that you don't want to buy. Once you say no to them a couple of times it won't feel so hard to anymore.

Yes, this irritates me a lot! I don't like the fact that they seem to be so persistant and they just will not take no for an answer, I guess the wiring in their brains has become faulty or malfunctioned in some way! This can be a real nuisance but thankfully I live in an apartment complex and you have these intercom systems in place. When my buzzer sounds, I find out who it is and I don't have to talk to them if I don't want to. Andrew

It doesn't really bother me when people ring my doorbell to sell things. I think of it being their way to earn money for their family. Now if they came either too early or too late I may get angry. At this time though I can honestly tell them that I have no money coming in so it usually is not a problem sending them away. What I don't like is the calls telling me that I won something but first I have to sign up for a trial on this product or I have to purchase something.

There are very few door-to-door salesmen where I live. I've only dealt with two or three since we moved in. They've all been employees of some auto glass company. Part of their sales pitch is asking if you'd like a free windshield. The catch is, you have to have full glass coverage on your auto insurance policy to get the windshield for free. The first employee who came to my door was horrible. He got mad when I told him no, and stood outside my apartment yelling for several minutes. I had to call the police to come and make him leave. It was really scary.
