Based on research, a person should drink 8 glasses of water a day. Now, since it's summer in the Philippines, I should be drinking more than 8 glasses per day. However, I noticed that I've been drinking less. And sometimes, the effect of that is head ache. How many glasses of water do you drink each day and what is its effects on you?

I drink water is about more than 10 glass in a day, i also smoke (very hard smoker). And lucky me, till now i never have a seriouslly ill. I always doing this, everytime I wake up in the morning, I always drink warm water, and about 9 - 10 am, i drink 1 glass again. At 12-2 pm after lunch I drink 2-3 glass. at 4-6 pm i drink 1 glass After dinner i usually drink 2-3 glass And the last before go to bed, 1 more. That's just i drink from fresh water, not include i drink tea or coffee. What i want to say is, it is good to drink fresh water cause it can eliminate toxine from your body.

I've heard of people drinking warm water, but I'm not sure why. I've also heard of people drinking very ice cold water to boost the metabolism.

We all experience dryness now in the Philippines, and how I wish it would rain a lot pretty soon. I am having headache also everyday, especially after waking up. I don't have a problem drinking water a lot because I used to it even it's not too hot. But I have to increase my water intake nowadays, to avoid dehydration. This would help us avoid possible illnesses due to the weather condition.

Headaches are every where. I feel it when I don't drink enough water or whenever my eyes are exposed to the sun. Or when I just came from under the sun then I immediately enter a mall or somewhere with an air condition.

I am not sure how many glasses of water I consumed a day.I can estimate it lower than five glasses. But this last Friday I woke in the morning at 5am just to drink 5 glasses of water. I felt I want to vomit because my stomach was full, but by doing that I really relieved my body for hot temperature and I noticed my skin was not dry, so I drink again this morning. So far as I counted I already drink 8 glasses of water now. We can all do that, drink 10 glasses is just easy, the only problem is we have to remember it or we set an alarm.

Hi pierrella, I don’t know the exact amount of water I drink in a day. But I guess it must be less than eight glasses. I may drink two glasses of water in the morning as first thing at wake up time. Now the summer is going on so there is no laziness to drink water and we may automatically search the water bottle more frequently. Still I am not sure whether I am drinking enough water for the day.

lol, sometimes I don't keep track but I realize that head ache occurs more often so maybe I'm not drinking enough water daily. Maybe I should change my routine haha

Hi there, it has been one of the most stressful days for me, i had a survey to take and that too under the sun, i was there for 5 hours straight under the sun and it's so hot over here, mostly crossing 43 degree Celsius ... I was stressed out, drank lots and lots of cold water... Yes 8 glasses of water would be good for a day, but they say drink lots and lots of water when ever you feel thirsty, that is enough for the body but yeah the more you drink the better it would be.

43 degrees Celsius?? wow! That is really hot. I think the weather in our country right now only reaches up to around 36 degrees Celsius. The hotter your country is, the more water you should drink because of perspiration.

Water is said to be essential for good health. The functions of water in human body are vital. It serves the following major functions: *Transports nutrients and oxygen into cells. *Moisturizes the air in lungs. *Helps with metabolism. *Helps in protecting the vital organs. *Helps these organs to absorb nutrients better. *Regulates body temperature. *Acts as a Detoxifying Agent. *Protects and moisturizes our joints. Unfortunately,I am not able to keep track of my daily water consumption but I make it a point to drink as much as it is possible for me.So,you keep doing the same and check out the results yourself.

I definitely don't get my eight glasses of pure water per day, but I'll have a glass or two of plain water/iced water, some juice, some pop, and sometimes a shake or coffee. I'm sure even with all this I'm not getting my necessary water, but it seems hard to me for some reason! When it's warmer out, I tend to get more thirsty so I try to dream more water. When I drink coffee, sometimes I'll get a headache...same effect when I have pop sometimes. Sometimes I'll get a headache, and it'll go away when I drink coffee or pop. It's weird, but I know it's probably due to the caffeine, so I try to stay away from that if I can. I prefer water and juice, if it is something I can get. If I'm at work and didn't bring anything to drink, I'll have either water or coffee since both are available to me there. Ever once in a while, I'll get slightly dehydrated and have a headache. I can tell then that I need water. I won't drink pop because I've heard that dehydrates you. Have you heard this also? Good discussion.

Thanks. I'm not really familiar with pop causes dehydration. I'm pretty sure lots of people drink this and people should do their research. Coffee is good when it is brewed. Instant coffee is full of caffeine. I heard that it loses nutrients when heated more than a certain temperature.

There are days I don't drink any water at all but I am trying to get back into drinking only water. When I do drink water the only effect on me is that I need to go to the ladies room more!

I drink at least two, 1liter bottles a day. I get cramps from dehydration and during pregnancy they can get really bad, then again during pregnancy you are supposed to drink a gallon of water a day so I guess that's why.

Hello pierrella, I drink 8-10 glasses of water a day, to rehydrate from this excoriating heat. If I drink less than 8 glasses I feel I need more air to breathe in so exhausted, sometimes I got head ache too.

hi, drinking lots of water is very much healthy. it hydrates us and also is a good way in cleansing or eliminating our waste products through urination. There's no substitute in drinking but water. Especially during summer, we should drink water to prevent dehydration or heat stroke.

I always drink more than eight glasses of water in a day. And in this intense summer heat, I tend to drink more. I get sick if I don't get to drink at least eight glasses of water in a day. I also don't like carbonated or sweetened drinks, so my fluid intake only consists of water.

I don't take in carbonated drinks, too. I don't drink sodas unless it is the only option in a particular restaurant. I've been more into teas lately, and of course, water :)

If I only drank 8 glasses of water in the summer, I'd be very sick. I drink about 20 glasses during the hot weather. If I'm outside, I'll drink even more. Good for me, I love water. I hate sodas.

If I'm not doing something out of the ordinary, then I will try to make sure that I am drinking at least eight glasses of water in the course of the day. However, when I am going out to workout, then I will drink a lot more than eight glasses of water in the course of the day. I tend to drink at least an extra three glasses of water if I am going out walking because of the fact that I carry a water bottle with me at all times.

I drink about 5 liters a day or at least try to. I heard that your supposed to drink 1 liter of water for every 40lbs of body weight and I'm just over 200lbs so like I said I try to get in 5 liters.
