Did you see the movie that won the Oscar for best picture in 2009? I am referring to "The hurt locker". The movie is terrible, wonderful, awful. It is one of the best movies I have seen lately although I´m not sure if it was a good idea to see it. The movie is about the war in Irak and there are no "good" and "bad" people. There are only human beings caught in an impossible situation. There can be no winner there.
If you want to relax, take "Pretty woman" at the Blockbuster. You know that life is not that way, you know Cinderellas don´t marry princes but you have a lovely time while you are viewing it.
If you want to question how life is and what we are all doig to the world, go and watch this incredible movie. This is reality, the king of reality we don´t want to learn about.

No ofense to the lady who directed it but the movie is at best mediocre... It s sad that even the Oscar awards became such a joke where personal business are take care off :)
It s a decent movie i m happy you liked it but there are movies on the same subject that i was more impressed with and never made it to the oscar :)
I just hope that it was a way of encourage her to keep going and won t happen again the next years :)

I have not come across any other movie about the war in Irak. Could you tell me names? I am very much interested.
I agree with you that not all the movies that get the Oscar are the best ones. It also happens with the Nobel Prizes and with any man made award.
Take care.

Hiya marguicha,
The only thing I have seen are the Trailers of this Film and now there are virtually no movie review programs now so you get to know even less than before. From what I saw as I am usually in and out of the Tv. Room most of the time was okay.
You´re right about Pretty Woman too in a way but hey you can find Princes because I found one okay not like in the Films so much but they do exist but so do the other type of Princes too not forgetting the Princesses.
Not going to tell anyone how I met my Prince that´s my little secret but they do exist out there. They are not perfect but they are there.

I was married to a prince for almost 40 years but wasn´t really talking about that.

I have not seen the movie. Since you say it is nice, I will try to watch it. Thanks for this discussion. Because of this discussion, I could get the film review of the oscar winning movie "The hurt locker".

Movies that feature the stark realities of life like "Slumdog Millionaire" usually turn out to be winners. I have not seen "The Hurt Locker" yet but with that kind of review you gave, I think I'll have a go for it when it hits our local theaters.
