i you are talking about getting a permanent isp (does not change) i guess you should request to your ISP of getting a static IP., 192.168.1.2 is your local area network created by your modem, that will not be change unless you change your modem.

The addresses 192.168.x.x are used for your local network only. Your internet IP is provided by your provider, and changes if it is a dynamic IP when you connect to your ISP. The only way to change it is to switch your modem.

This depends on whether you wish to reset the internal network IP (192.168.0.*), or whether you wish to reset the IP address provided by your ISP. The internal address can be changed by using the command prompt to run ipconfig as the first respodant suggested, but if have a dynamic IP address from your ISP then you need to reboot the router to change it.

Hi. I agree with Rocco but if your ISP is using a dynamic IP then thats the way how to shutting your modem but if it is a static then you may need to contact your IS provider.
