The just of the story is that the health officials did not close down this day care after 4 children were hospitalized from a strain of the deadly E coli because they were concerned that the parents would take children to other day cares and spread it further.
A child dies and more people came up positive and then they closed it down on April 2nd.
Am I the only one that sees this as they failed to protect the students in their facility? Their staff?
The health officials failed in this type of thinking, They should of tested everyone and treated them if need be.

hi newtalent I cannot understand why they did not close that day care down at once, test every one, and examine the hygeine techniques being used there. It is communicable but how was it being spread, dirty hands, careless handling of food there, they should have checked for all of that and tested all people who came in contact with the kids and the day care center. Some body was careless and unclean in some way as this just doesnt happen without being caused by someones bad habits.

They wanted to not cause hysteria, and to keep it contained, but to me that was insane. I would want to know so I could get my child, self cared for , and where I could get the help if needed. Some crap amazes me in people. Take care.

The daycare should have been closed down at least temporarily at the first sign of the epidemic starting. To have not closed the daycare down for a period of time where the victims could get healthy. In fact, the waiting to close down until the situation became fatal surely insures that the families of the children that were cared for there will never have confidence in either the management or the individual care providers from the facility.
My prayers definitely go out to the family of the victims.
