Does anyone have problem with pay and talk....

I can't tell you how unhappy I am with my pay and talk service. I use my phone sparingly and get charged even though my phone is hardly on. Why can't we get charged for the time that we actually use? Why are we getting charged for minutes when our phones are off? I'm to the point now where I have to turn my phone off permanently because I can't afford it. I just sent an angry letter off to my carrier. I hope they listen, but I don't think they will. What about you, do you have this problem? What should I do about it? Are there other plans that are more affordable?

Its normal.. you just have a too expensive plan i guess. You can try At&t's pay phone, if it makes you feel better. I have a $60/month plan, and i think it is expensive. I believe usa is the country that charges the most expensive

i have pay as you go plan and i use virgin mobile it is good though and you can buy the minute pack 200 minutes for 20 dollars plus 10 dollars for 1000 messages it is pretty good and cheap for people who do not talk much on the phone like me

Hi fever324, Whoa that sounds expensive. I thought I had it bad just paying 20.00 a month. Thanks for your response and so quickly too. Hi amirabadawy, I like your plan, do the 200 minutes get taken away from you at the end of the month or do you get to keep them? Where did you get your phone, at Wal-mart?

That can be tricky especially when there are other people living in the house. We used to also avail of that kind of service but had it cut because our helper was also using it and so we accumulated a lot of long distance bills.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Fortunately for me nobody uses my cell phone but me. So basically I have it to call my husband on when I'm short for time and need a ride somewhere. I use it when I'm home to set up times to visits my family. That's about it, anyway thanks for responding I appreciate it.

Personally, I have post paid plan & I pay around $80/month. It's one of those unlimited plan, unlimited voice calls & messagings & data. I have that because I use my phone a lot. Depends on the coverage area, I know some companies charge around $25/month for unlimited talking. Their coverage is very limited, though. You might wanna check out their coverage map before getting it. I know "unlimited" sounds like you're wasting money but $25/month is cheap compared to even some of the other pre-paid services. Like I said, trade off is their coverage area is very limited.

Thanks for the comment. So if I use my cell phone more which I may do if I get a plan like my husbands. It's probably better for me, right?

Sounds to me you did one of those pay-as-you-go plans. Personally I have a post-piad plan and its quite affordable for me. Quite frankly I don't see a problem with mine. Because I don't pay for the minutes as as I pay for the ability to have service. I also have unlimited minutes. I don't worry about overage charges or anything like that. Plans are as afordable as you make them to be. The idea is to do your research before buying.

Actually the phone is about six years old. We had unlimited minutes on the phone and then someone stepped in and made a law saying something about pay and talk. Next thing I know I'm paying through the nose for the service. I don't remember what the law was about, it happened three years ago. But I thought I should at least get a new cell phone between then and now. My husband has changed his cell phone twice now.
