Do you think God will forgive us from what we have done in the past?

I am a christian and I don't know if He really forgives me for the sins that i committed. I believe in Him cause I know there is a person more higher than us that is our prime mover the one who started it all. Does anybody of you out there the truth about this?? I need to know and to clarify things about Him. Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts to me.

Our sins will be forgiven if we make amends and promise not to commit them again. If we have hurt someone then we should make up for the hurt inflicted on them. God is all forgiving.

waaa im still confused how would God forgive us when we in the first place broke the law and that is sin. Should He be angry and banish us from the earth.. we are also of God because we are created in His image and likeness i don't know why would He forgive us inspite of what we have done.
sorry for the question.. im in a confused state...

For all have sinned and come short to the glory of God(Romans 3;23)
God never get tired of forgiving..If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us( john 1;9),admit and ask for forgiveness from deep inside your heart and he is willing to forgive.

wow you did ur home work and memorize the bible heheh i really like bible people they really give me good answers. hope i can read the bible like you and finishes it because im having a hard time finishing it due to some circumstance like the devil inside me is telling me not to finish it. grrrr anyway thanks...

Well, the Bible's God sometimes become angry, expecially if you do something against his preferred people. Keep in mind what he done to the egyptians. He not thinked too much to send them horrible plagues, as well as let them die under the read sea water.
But sometimes He's also a funny guy, he can make some nice jokes to you like ask you to kill your kids, or invite you to have a walk to go somewhere, and let you walk for 40 years.

And I'm just curious to know, anyone here seems sure that God (assuming we're talking about the christian God) will forgive anyone that pray him or ask for mercy.
It means nobody remember Matthew 25:31-46 ??
Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’
And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.
If you wanna be a good christian, you should live your entire life as a christian. Is too much easy take from the religion only what you like, and forget what you dislike or coud make your "good christian" lifestyle harder than the common one.
Be a christian don't means only go in the church on sunday....

Being a christian there's no such salvation in religion,there is no such salvation by works and deed and not even attending mass on sunday..
As it was said,For its by grace we have been saved,through faith it is not from ourselves not by works so that no one can boast, it is the gift of God.
Christianity is not by words,its by faith whom you will believe,and workmanship prepared for us to do in advance.....

I believe God can forgive us for what we've done in the past. I believe no matter what we have done, whether we have injured or killed somebody, it's always forgivable for Him.

i dont think so as He is sitting there to settle our a/cs what we do here and may be he will lessen our sins we repent from the bottom of the heart but certainly we will get the punishment according to our deeds and sins

I believe that God is a loving and forgiving person. I don't like how some "religious" people think of God as someone who "hates" sinners, or condemns people. God is good. No matter how much of a sinner we are, He will always love and accept us with open arms.

Of course, God is a forgiving God so whatever we have done in the past, He will forgive us for all our shortcomings. As long as we repent from it and ask forgiveness not to commit again to sin.

well you are assuming you have sinned, to me saying that everybody has sinned is a bit offensive to me,
I live my life the way I think it should be so to me I haven't sinned,
I believe that it all boils down to the sins that adam and eve were supposed to of committed if they ever actually existed.
If thats the case why do I need to be forgiven for what adam and eve done as that had nothing to do with me.
And upto this point in my life I have lived my life the way I think it should of been lived so in my opinion I have no sins to be forgiven of.

Wow ur like a God.. u haven't sinned? hehe nothing is perfect dude we all sin. whether u deny it or not. and in the case of adam and eve i don't believe in the story of creation in the beginning thing.. the first man.. etc.. etc.. those stories are like symbolism to me. i only believe in the story of starting from the descendants of noah.. that's what i like about you. you believe in something and you hold on into it. thanks dude.

I believe that he has reasons and that reason is up to Him to Decide
not mine.. I research it in the net and i cant really find
the right answer to my question maybe its not my place to find the answer

God forgivess everytime when u really feel regret about what wrong u have done. Everytime when u feel sorry for the sin u did and u pray for forgiveness God forgives. He has inside of him a mercy and if u feel sorry for ur sins, what would be the reason to not forgive you? He knows what is in your heart so if ur heart regrets and tend for forgivnesse from God u will get it :)

Oh! sure...He is the only one who pardons our sins and bless us in all earnestness. Trust him, you will never be forsaken. He is the only one in whom you can put quite a lot of trust on.

God is a good God., a mercy-full God, Loving God. God is already forgive our sins when Jesus give his own life for us the sinners. what we have is to accept Him as our personal savior, have Faith in Him. if you repent your sin with all your hearth, God is already forgiven.. He knows our hearts well if it is pure or not..

for me God will really forgive you if your really sincere in asking forgiveness and you really do action to change the mistake you have done, but when you just keep on asking and asking forgiveness without action then i think God will not forgive you but you see God is the father of Mercy so hope that all of us were forgiven but lets all try our best to do some action after we ask for forgiveness

yes God forgives us, He has given us the right to choose what we like to do may it be good or bad, he has given us the free will, but because He loves us that much He forgives us in such a way we also know what we have done that is against the Holy Scriptures of our religion or any religion for that matter.
