Do you know of any household products that take scratches out of DVDs?

I know I've read about this a million times before, but know that I want to try it, I can't remember. Are there any household products that take scratches out of DVDs?

I use a scratch remover to remove scratches on my cds and dvds. I know someone who used toothpaste to remove scratches on their game which is a cd or dvd. After the person used toothpaste on their cd their game began to work properly.

Toothpaste is the one I think I read about. I think I'll give it a try. If it doesn't work I'll just get a new dvd
